Is this a 3 peat for Fort Campbell? I know they have their QB coming back (Unless his parents gets PCS).

Although I’m biased, I have to say Fort Campbell is the favorite in 2A. The do return QB Antonio Andrews along with most of last year’s potent offense (Turner, Allen, Powell, & Moreno). They also return most of the OL (Jorstad, Miller, Topps, Clements). Their key holes to fill will be at LB and DE (Carter and Whipple), but they do return most of the DL and DBs.

After Fort Campbell in District 2-2 I believe it will be a similar outcome as the last two years with Owensboro Catholic, Hancock, and Todd Co. OC will need to replace their QB and #1 WR in Walker and McGraw, but they do return a potent RB in Sophomore Hayden.

In district 2-1 Caldwell Co and Murray each had solid teams last year and they each return a number of players this coming season and should vie for the district championship. Trigg Co lost a lot to graduation and will probably be down this year, but should benefit from an easier schedule. Heath returns most of last year’s team to include Jacob Lynn and could also be in the mix with Caldwell and Murray.

Monroe Co should be the favorite to win district 2-3 as they return a number of starters from last year’s semi-final team and have one of the best receivers in the state. Metcalfe and Green might also make some noise in district 2-3. Metcalfe should return RB Daniel Deleon, who was injured late last year, but they will need to find more of a supporting cast. Green loses two key players in Pendleton and Rogers, but returns Garrett who will probably shoulder much of their rushing offense.

District 2-4 should be another battle between Danville and Bardstown with Washington Co losing their main offensive weapon in Simms and Ft Knox still struggling.

A large number of WKY 2A schools will have new QBs this year to include: Danville, Owensboro Catholic, Monroe Co, Caldwell Co, Green Co, Washington Co, and Trigg Co.

Although I’m not nearly as familiar with EKY as WKY I believe the teams to watch will be NCC, Desales, Corbin, and Prestonsburg. However, NCC will have to replace two key players in Kues and Kelly. DeSales returns a lot and could give NCC a run for their money. Corbin almost always reloads and can never be counted out.

I'd look for Glasgow to have a better year. (It couldn't get any worse). I expect Coach Rick Wood to bring Glasgow back to the top.

Very well put. Personally, I have no idea how the rest of 2A looks, can't wait for the season to start.

I know that FC is returning a good bit of players at key positions, and have a few holes to fill, but should be fine in doing so.

Later.

I am a biased source but watch out for Cov Holy Cross. They return the whole Offense besides TE and the entire D backfield, a LB, and 2 of 4 D-line starters. They are going to shock some people this year. Look for them to open some eyes when they play Belfry early in the season.

My pick to win right now is with Fort Campbell. Someone has to knock them off for them not to be the top dog.

Fort Campbell will be a very good team again. Metcalfe will be down Deleon was a Senior so he is gone. Think that Monroe and Green will be in the mix in their District and Region with Glasgow coming on with Rick Woods as coach. Do not know enough about the rest of the state except NCC will always be tough.

My mistake, I thought Deleon was a Junior last year.

What's your outlook on Corbin this year?

Where are all the NCC & Corbin faithful with some NKY/EKY 2A insight?

Bardstown lost Rashaun Phillips to graduation and a scholarship to Furman. He was BMOC as far as that team went. They get a lot of their team back, but someone has to b the lead dog replacing Phillips. I'll give you a better assessment after seeing them this summer.

I'm interested to see how Ricky Harper will have developed. If he can put it all together, he can have a big year.

As far as NCC goes - Jake Cain should be your leader for UK. MVP will be RB/LB Chris Kelly who saw action this year sharing runs with his brother Mark. NCC has gotten lucky with skilled classes. This class has some great players, especially hard hitters like Garrett Brown and Jake Smith, but no explosive studs like Kues, M. Kelly, Brian Wrobleski from two years ago, and Michael Vicars from three years ago. Jake Giesler, though basketball more and more looks like his sport, should contribute greatly on the line with Brown, Smith, Paul Eviston, and a few others. Brennan Daunt and Brian Doyle will both be great as juniors, Daunt TE/LB and Doyle WR/DB. I'm leaving out alot of players probably but those are my highlights. Also unfortunate news is Michael Owen, who got some time as a sophomore as ILB, will not be returning. He would have contributed on defense the next two years but has been medically declared unable to play. He may not have started til his senior year and I don't know what impact he would have had, but I feel for the kid.

This is Ft. Campbell's championship to lose. Andrews should make a run for Mr. Football.

As far as NewCath, their lines will be solid. That's always a huge plus for a team with so many other holes to fill. They will have to replace almost their whole secondary, receiving corps, and linebackers. They will take their lumps early, but by the end of the year they will be in the running for a regional championship. I don't believe that they'll be able to get past Corbin or De Sales this year, but I hope that I am wrong. It's been an amazing stretch for NewCath, and they always have a kid that blossoms over the summer to come out of nowhere. I hope that that is the case this summer.
