I'm anxoius to see who will start at QB for Corbin this year! Could be the difference maker on how far the hounds will go.

Who will be in the top 10 preseason poll 1-10 ?

I am under the impression that Sophomore Travis Smith will be the QB for the Hounds this year.

 

Corbin has some questions on the Line but that always seems to work itself out. Corbin has always produced great linemen.

 

The backfield again should be absolutely loaded. Caleb Watkins and Ryan Fritts return along with Matthew Taylor and Brady Foley. Watkins is the real deal. He has the size, strength, and blazing speed. He played in the last game with a severe high ankle sprain. Fritts was the leading rusher on the team and feature back last season before tearing his ACL. I saw Ryan at the Sweet 16 and he has really bulked up a lot. He has to be pushing 200. It didn't appear to be bad weight either.

You can't forget about Roman Mitchell who is also in the QB race.

This is Ft. Campbell's championship to lose. Andrews should make a run for Mr. Football.

 

As far as NewCath, their lines will be solid. That's always a huge plus for a team with so many other holes to fill. They will have to replace almost their whole secondary, receiving corps, and linebackers. They will take their lumps early, but by the end of the year they will be in the running for a regional championship. I don't believe that they'll be able to get past Corbin or De Sales this year, but I hope that I am wrong. It's been an amazing stretch for NewCath, and they always have a kid that blossoms over the summer to come out of nowhere. I hope that that is the case this summer.

 

This Newcath team really reminds me of the 2006 team that went on to win the 1A title. Yes they may not be as good on the defensive side as they were that year but the offense is going to be very similar. They will run and run often.

Mitchell is a good athlete and may have to change positions if Smith takes over the QB position. Either of these two guys will be fine calling the signals as a QB. If Coach Jewell can find some big boys to do the dirty work in the trenches the Hounds could indeed be one of the top teams in 2A.

You're right the backfield will be loaded once again this year, and the line always seems to work out year in and year out, but once again the BIG question will be at QB. I personally could care less which one got the job 'Travis Smith' or 'Roman Mitchell' I think they both could run the offense like Farris wants them too.

I agree. Chris Kelly is going to be in the running for the leading rusher in NKY.

The way it sounds, it's going to be another NCC/Corbin matchup late in the playoffs

I would think that the road to the 2A State Championship should run though the two time defending State Champion, Fort Campbell.

My post reads misleading my bad. :thumb: I meant as far as NKY is concerned NCC is the team to beat. That's the outlook up here. I have stated it all runs through Fort Campbell earlier in the thread. Sorry for the confusion. :thumb:
