Holmes has surprising speed, not really the amazing quickness that you see in those shifty players. They are not the Allen Iverson fast where they will run circles around you, they are more of the LeBron James fast, they will get to the rim and up and down the court way faster than you think. If that makes any sense.

Never believe anything is a done deal, but Holmes will have to completely self-destruct for them not to bring the title home. Have seen both play and Central is a good ball club but Holmes has too many weapons.

I dont know much about Central either, but Holmes is the big dog in this tourny. Holmes by 11.

 

I'm for the better football team, so make it Central in a squeaker. Five varsity state champion football players for the Yellowjackets will make the difference.

 

Hopefully other coaches around the Commonwealth will realize football players may miss up to 16 months of AAU basketball due to football commitments, but they usually are excellent team players and outstanding leaders and may make a huge difference in the success of a basketball team.

Central has been underestimated this whole tournament. I would view Holmes as a solid favorite and they will win if they come out focused and take care of business.

 

But, if they make the mistake of thinking they won the state title after beating Elliott County and take Central lightly, the game could be interesting and Holmes could be playing the bridesmaid again.

 

You can't discount how much that championship experience is worth for Central, even if it is a football title. JMO

 

I expect Holmes to finish what they've started and take care of business with a double digit victory. But, again, if they take Central lightly, they could come out of Rupp talking about what should have been.

 

I honestly felt like Christian County may have been the team with the best shot to knock off Holmes, since they got them in the tourny opener. Come out hot and catch Holmes before they got comfortable. Seems like the Bulldogs have been comfortably in control since that point...

This could be interesting. This will be by far the strongest and most athletic interior players Holmes will face all year so it will be interesting to see how the rebounding situation goes.

 

Alex Morrison will need to hit a few threes for Central and Holmes will have to handle Central's speed but with all that being said, I'd have to give the nod to Holmes.

I see Holmes winning this one by about 10, but they can't look past Central. It's hard to believe a team with a losing record going into the post-season is playing for a state title tonight.

Holmes by 20. With the "business-type" approach, I look for the Bulldogs to take out the frustrations of the '78 and '90 dawgs on Central. Thanks to the coaching staff and Dicky Beil, these players know how much this means to past Bulldogs... They will bring one home to the COV tonight in spectacular fassion.

I just really can't see anyone in the state beating this Holmes team right now. If Holmes stays focused like they have been all tournament, they win comfortably.
