Central 71 Eastern 65

Featured Replies

Be honest with yourselves and realize Central has to win two games. The top bracket of the Sweet 16 was as putrid as it has ever been and every team in it would have had a legit shot to come out of it.

Also, I love how the Trinity fans show up to support the 6th region once the 7th has been eliminated. Per usual for BGP.

I like Central. I like them in football, I like them in basketball, I like their band...what's wrong with that? If Eastern had won, I'd have rooted for them. But, I like Central more for several reasons. The only way I'd have supported a Louisville team over Central is if it were Trinity or X or DeSales, etc. I'm not sure what you're implying. :idunno:

This just made the top bracket very interesting IMO. I haven't paid much attention because after Eastern beat Corbin, I thought they would be in the finals. Now I'm clueless on who could come out of the top bracket!

I would guess it will be either West Jessamine or Central. :D

I think it's been asked before, and it's not very likely, but can anyone remember if that has ever happened?

I didn't look it up, but if I remember correctly, it's never happened.

I will root for 7th region first, then Louisville.....not a hard concept. I apologize for irritating you!

If Central can pull this out, they'd double dip basketball and football...wow!!

One more game tonight!

Say it with me.....

Let's GO CENTRAL!!!!!!

I'm surprised someone hasn't posted the history that exhists in this one. If I remember right, Coach Bibby was the coach at Eastern when they had a very talented but troubled player named Cornwell. He was a 6'5 stud and they had a couple of nice players to go with him (one may have been Rondo but I'm not 100% sure that's right). Anyway, Bibby suspends Cornwell from the team. The Eastern administration gets heat from the parents and tells Bibby that he must take Cornwell back on the team and play him. Bibby says he won't do it. Eastern gets rid of Bibby.

Congratulations to Coach Bibby for keeping true to himself and not allowing ridiculous administrative politics to stand in his way. I'm sure this win over Eastern on the biggest stage possible has some vendication for the way he was wronged.

A lot of us talked about that last week, and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here.

If memory serves, Bibby's firing was a big reason for Rajon Rondo's departure and transfer to Oak Hill Academy. It's interesting that the AD that played a big role in Bibby's firing is now on the Eastern bench as an assistant coach.
