Sad to hear this about Damon. He deserved better than what he received. I hope the Principal gets what she deserves.

Sorry to hear this coach was let go, I ref'd his team this past year when they came into the 8th region to play. His team was well coached and played hard. Best of luck to him in the future.

This is not a desirable job, not because it is Lafayette with its rich basketball history, but because it is Fayette County with no feeder programs and no commitment to excellence in athletics.

 

It is most disappointing.

He was only at JC for one year I believe, then went to Henderson, I think this is his 2nd year there.

Starns does a good job. However, I hate to see someone as classy as Coach Kelly get done this way. I am sure he will land on his feet.

It seems as if Damon Kelly was rebuilding every year at Lafayette, after his trip to Rupp Arena with Darnell Dials and Company.

 

The Vee Sanford transfer was a devastating blow to the Lafayette basketball fortune the last two seasons.

It seems hes been pretty unlucky. He lost a D-1 player in Sanford and had Linton been healthy this year I think after watching them a few times that its safe to say that their record would have been much better this past season.

So has anybody heard who the frontrunner might be for the job?
