L.C.A. should and will be loaded and then some, with tons of talent coming back including a qb that if anyone hasn't seen this kid play he is well worth the trip to watch him. The Eagles were a well balanced team last season and I look for the same this year. L.C.A. will no doubt be the overwhelming favorite in their in district (one which includes my Raceland Rams). Talent everywhere -speed-strength- depth - one of the very best coaches in all of the state .............I don't think that there is a weakness anywhere with L.C.A..

Oh wait :eek:, they do have that Bluto guy that can be a little shakey, he is maybe the only weak link.

 

As always the road to a Class A State title runs through Beechwood but imo L.C.A. just may pave their own road to the Championship in 09'. (if they can control the Bluto guy I was speaking of, Bluto you are a good guy my friend :thumb:)

What changed from 2007 to 2008 season for LCA's defense??

 

They let their DC go!!!!! That is the biggest thing that I saw from the year. I would go get Coach Carroll back and see what he can do!!

 

I dont say better coach but better fit. Players felt more comfortable by the end of 2007 with what was going on and there was as much talent in 2008 but a lot more experience but no where near the same results!!

 

Chemistry wasnt the same on the Defensive side of the ball!!

 

I am not taking anything away from Ray, just giving credit where it is due to Mark Carroll!! If you go to the state championship, and lose a very close game then why go out looking for a new DC??

 

The LCA defense isnt the one that lost that game against Beechwood; it was special teams!!!

 

I, too, would say that defense is the key. LCA's offense will put points on the board. But the defense needs to step up if a title run is to be made.

I would have left as well if I was Coach Carroll. He was the DC and then the head coach brings in somebody else to "help" run the defense with you?? I think that Coach Rains made a mistake by making him a co-defensive coordinator and then eventually defensive coordinator after Coach Carroll left. Most coaches would have been offended or felt challenged if their HC wanted to add "co-coordinator" to your staff after you went to the state finals.
