How many play on both sides of the ball?

 

I would say 4-6 players.

 

Of the linemen, West will most probably play both ways. And my guess is that 2 other linemen will play both ways.

 

The only offensive skill player that will definitely (IMHO) play defense will be Hayden. A few others may, also, but that will remain to be seen.

Lexington Christian Academy football coach Paul Rains, who's been on a weight-loss kick, rode a bicycle from his home in Richmond to LCA a couple weeks ago, and got caught in a nasty storm.

 

"It was 32 miles, but felt like 52," he said.

 

The 47-year-old Rains' pedal performance made an impression on his team.

 

"It's pretty encouraging," said senior quarterback Lucas Witt. "If our coach gives that much effort, we should be able to give the same."

 

Not that LCA needs any extra motivation this season.

 

After a surprising run to a Class A runner-up finish in 2007, the Eagles made it to the semifinals last year before being upset by Hazard.

 

LCA's talented senior class, including Witt, running back/linebacker Domonique Hayden and receiver Branden Burdette, is determined to make another run at a title.

LCA is only playing 2 players both ways...they have a few others that are in on a rotation on the other side of the ball...but when the smoke clears only 2 will "start" both ways.

Just going by what the article said: Baker & Fairchild (linemen) & Hayden (linebacker). You probably have inside info, and so I will defer to your assessment.

 

Whether it's 2 or 3, it's nice to know that we have the depth to rest so many players. (a FAR cry from the days of 18-20 kids on the entire team)

LCA is the team to beat in 1A. Yes I said it, and I will except all the criticism for it from the Beechwood fans, but I will await anyone to prove me wrong.

No they won't, but I honestly think the finals in 1A will be LCA over Frankfort. That has been my prediction all summer, and I am sticking with it.

 

I'm stubborn.:lol:

 

But, I think Frankfort will be very good and will be a very close second place this year, defeating Beechwood in the Semi-Finals.

Anyone denying what LCA brings to the table would be unwise. They'd probably beat several small college teams with their talent. Heck, D-train wears UK pants to scrimmage in!!!!!!!

Not stirring, just giving my prediction. LCA is that good this year. Is it a guarantee? No. But feel that it is more then a shot in the dark.

 

And, no, I am not a LCA fan, a Frankfort fan, or a Beechwood fan, so don't bash them for my prediction.
