Clyde Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Of course they should. Baseball stinks. Football stinks.
strongopenyon Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Good point, "Clyde". Billy Clyde bad behavior is drawing all the attention away from Mitch Barnhart, even though he hired him. I think Mitch can come out of this as a hero by admitting he made a very poor hire and moving forward with a great hire. The Kentucky situation is in many ways very similar to the North Carolina hiring of Matt Doherty not too long ago. The exception is that Billy Clyde was never part of the Kentucky family as Matt Doherty was at UNC as a former player on some great teams. It was much more difficult for North Carolina administration to pull the plug on Doherty after three seasons even though he nearly caused a mutiny in Chapel Hill. This situation is much easier and Mitch Barnhart will come out of this in fine fashion if he fastidiously makes his wrong.......right.
extackler Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I've not been a fan of his since her rolled into Lexington. With the way things have been handled with BCG I wouldn't mind seeing both of them hit the road. He's lucked out with Brooks IMO. The football team has had a nice run the past 3 years.
pigman Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 These get rid of Mitch threads are comical. All sports other than basketball are in better shape than when he got here. He will get this straightened out. Getting lucky with Brooks statement is a joke. Sticking with Brooks took more guts than most people have.

Mitch is one of the best things to happen to UK sports. He does things the right way. UK is winning at almost every level of sport they compete in. He is extremely well respected by the board of regents and all of the powers that be at UK and around the country. I know there are folks who don't like BCG, but IMO the jury is still out and it is too early to say he is a bad hire. I'd like to know where people think Mitch has screwed up. Let's exclude BCG from that list because like I said, the jury is still out.

Original Rookie Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 At UK, does that matter if the basketball team isn't winning? Yes it does from every rational fan/alum.
formerkywrestler Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Yes it does from every rational fan/alum.What about the other 85% of the fan base?
AHSPanther23 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 What about the other 85% of the fan base? I would say they would agree with the alums/rational fans.
