UofL 2009 Schedule

Is this year the bottom or will it be next year? Not a lot to look forward to as a season ticket holder except the tailgating.

In theory this should be the bottom, but I personally feel there is a ton to look foward to regardless of record. They will improve markedly throughout the season, and like you suggested we have seen the bottom.

I got a report on the spring game from a former player at UL and his opinion is that they are very small, no real leader at QB, predicts 3-4 wins this season at best.

Unreal just how far the mighty Cards have fallen.

I guess Krags gets to keep driving the train even if they stink up the field this year?

Please tell me what we have to look forward to. I need something, anything, to be optimistic about at this point.

I don't know, I was right up there close, and don't get me wrong, they will struggle at times, but they have some very nice jewels in that program.

First things first, don't go into it with tremendously high expectations. Hope for a young team to excel at times, and not struggle more often than not. They can win 6, or lose 8....IMO, the key will be how times the defense can come up with stops. I genuinely feel this team will score.

So we've gone from 12-1 and Orange Bowl champions to not having tremendously high expectations. I'm sorry but that's not good enough. Another year without a bowl game and our coach needs to be finding a new job, particularly as user friendly as our non-conference schedule.

Well, I'll say this people can make a choice.....either root for this team or against them. Being upset about where the program has gone is fair, but at this point, what's done is done. IMO, this staff or the next will get this program turned around, and done the right way for the long haul. From what I am gathering Tom is giving him plenty of time to get it done.

Vic Anderson.

Vic Anderson.

Doug Beaumont also looked good in the Spring Game. Scott Long will also be back.

I didn't see a wealth of physical talent in the spring game but I also didn't see glaring ineptness either.

Considering the number of players switched in and out in such a short period one would expect to see more mistakes and goofups, I didn't see a team that I expect to shoot itself in the foot a lot next season. If there is anything to hang you hat on it would be that.

He told me they just don't have the size and talent up front to be successful.

Just for fun....What would be the records for UK and UL if they flipped schedules?

8-4, 7-5

Running backs return except Brock. Wideouts return. OL has some holes. The D improved and its easier to teach defense instead of offense.

I also know that you don't want to show a whole lot in a spring game. Once they settle on the QB they will be fine. My main concern for them is hoping the place kickers do better.

UCONN lost some players as well as WVa, Rutgers (both new QBs too)

Cincy will be a hard game but who knows?
