March 10, 200917 yr How does it help everyone? As I stated earlier...when my business' have more capital I reinvest the money back into the business. I expand, I replace old products with new ones, and hire new people. By buying new products my business is stimulating someone else's biz. When I hire new workers they obviously receive a pay check. I kinda over simplified this...but I am a little confused as to how you think trickle down doesnt work. Also, for those who think trickle down economics doesnt work...then why is BHO initiating $7T in new spending? His reasoning is that it will "trickle" down and create jobs. The problem is that he should do this through the private sector. Those same jobs can and would be created through business' that receive tax credits and tax breaks. He could accomplish the same thing without breaking the country.
March 10, 200917 yr Weak in my opinion. Would you apply the same flawed analysis to other wrongs? Supporting your president is tantamount to supporting the wholesale dehumanization of the most innocent of our brothers and sisters. I just presented the facts in accordance with the longstanding and consistent teachings of my faith. Rationalize as you choose. That is your decision. I figure that I have goodly number of issues to answer for but failing to completely support the most vulnerable of God's children won't be one of them. So who do you vote for if you can't vote for pro-choice or pro-death penalty candidates? No answer to this?
March 10, 200917 yr Not to steer this further off course, but more than once you've said "your president". Am I correct in drawing the conclusion that you don't consider President Obama your president? I thought I had made that abundantly clear.
March 10, 200917 yr No answer to this? Obama was and is an avowed abortionist. McCain never voiced his support of capital punishment although he did state that he supported the sanctity of life. Obviously, I voted for McCain although, as I stated earlier, he was a poor candidate. With my beliefs as they are, there was really no other choice. I certainly could foresee the havoc being caused by your president. He is deadly for the innocents and a danger to the rest of us.

March 10, 200917 yr With all due respect, like it or not, he's our President. Speak for yourself but don't try to speak for anyone else.
March 10, 200917 yr Speak for yourself but don't try to speak for anyone else. Not trying to speak for anyone. Ask anyone on this board, they will tell you I am no Obama fan; I'm not a bit happy with him at the helm. That being said, he's still my President and yours. I respect the office he holds and therefore him, even though I'm adamantly against his politics.

March 10, 200917 yr I'm not judging you since it is also a sin for me to judge others. I indeed do pray for those who choose to kill their babies but I pray a good bit more for the innocents who are deprived of the God given right to be born. They, afterall, are the victims and not the women who decide to butcher them. I agree that the issue is serious but it isn't complex. The issue is quite clear- either we believe in the sanctity of human life or we don't. No compromise. To compromise is to dehumanize the issue and to break one of the most reverent and basic tenets of our church. We have no choice in this matter. McCain was pitiful. Your president is dangerous. But, then, he never tried to hide his agenda during the campaign, did he? I believe you have already judged me.

You create a business, and you do reinvest back into the company, but you move your operations overseas, and you hire people in foreign countries to receive those paychecks, which are lower than you'd pay an American wage earner. (Apologies to all grammar freaks like myself for the extreme run-on sentence). As to the last paragraph....I'll ponder that for a while. Not sure what I think of it yet.

March 11, 200917 yr Speak for yourself but don't try to speak for anyone else. If you are a citizen of the United States, then by definition, he is your president.

Who do you vote for if one candidate is pro-choice and one is pro-death penalty? Both of those are against your religious beliefs, if my understanding of catholicism is correct.

(Apologies to all grammar freaks like myself for the extreme run-on sentence). As to the last paragraph....I'll ponder that for a while. Not sure what I think of it yet. The reality is not so different as many more jobs are created by small businesses in the country than are moved overseas by the large corporations.
March 11, 200917 yr What about other elections? Who do you vote for if one candidate is pro-choice and one is pro-death penalty? Both of those are against your religious beliefs, if my understanding of catholicism is correct. It is a waste of time answering one who equates abortion with the death penalty. Both are wrong but the former kills our most innocent and vulnerable while the latter kills a convicted predator on society. I also believe that not all sin is of an equal degree. And, for you others who disagree, anyone who so openly wages war against the most vulnerable and innocent and shows a complete disregard for the sanctity of life is not my president. Compromise your beliefs under the superficial guise of unity and "respect" for the office if you must. I won't do so. I have always been taught that one earns respect. Your president has not done so and, from his first 50 days of attack on basic Christian tenets, it is unlikely that he will ever do so. So, like it or not, he is your president- not mine.
