Let me try to be a bit clearer. I obviously have no "positive feelings" toward the new president or his leftwing, socialist, anti-sanctity of life agenda.

My purpose in mentioning the fact that, from all indications, he is also anti-capitalism and that he appears to be more interested in a world government than in protection of our way of life was to indicate that I "differ" from him in more ways than just because he has no respect for life.

 

If I were to say that he is my president it may indicate to some that I somehow support him. I don't. In that regard, I am like Limbaugh. I want his socialist, anti-life, one world government agenda to fail because it will destroy the country and way of life that we hold so dear and that our forefathers (and foremothers) fought for for over two centuries. I am quite familiar with the contents of the US Constitution since I have taught college courses which included it as a major paert of the course. I realize that he is president of the United States. However, I am not aware of any sttement, law, or precedent that requires that I claim him as my president. Thus, I don't do so.

If I go against the teachings of the Catholic Church, I have no business attending that Church. I need to find your president's church- assuming he really has one now.

 

This issue, to a Catholic (and to many others) is not negotiable nor can it be rationalized. You should know that.

 

So, to be clear, the Catholic church is against the death penalty but you rationalize it away using abortion as a basis. Does the Church rationalize like you do? If so, do you still stand behind your post above saying that if you go against the teachings of the Church that you have no business attending the Church?
