Seems like every year we have the same sort of dialog about how teams could and maybe will upset Holmes and how great the tournament will be. Holmes has too much tournament experience and will be focused, easily winning the 9th again. Who knows, we may have a 9th region state champion. For that to happen, it better be Holmes who wins the 9th. No other team really has a legitimate shot to win state.

It would really be a shame if Boone County and Holmes end up on the same side of the tournament. I hope it doesn't happen.

If they're the two best teams why would it matter when they ultimately decide who is better?

I would say the atmosphere. To have a trip to Rupp on the tip of your fingers could bring out the best in both teams. I totally understand where you are coming from, but I would like to see the teams play in the finals rather than semifinals. Not to mention, I would like to show the 10th region the best two teams we have.

I don't know how often it is that the CovCath guys provide their talents to fellow Kenton Countians, but I wanted to say thanks from one frustrated fan that can't get to nearly as many games as I would like. Kudos.

Credit goes to Mark Wehry. He loves doing it and loves to provide service to others. He knows many people in Covington and Ft Mitchell and thought it would be cool to do since the Colonels didn't qualify.

Agreed. Nobody remembers the regional runner up. If Holmes or Boone loses in the first round or the title game, it is all the same. Rupp or bust!

Wow! What a nice added bonus to have Mark Wehry, The 'J' Man and Greg Spencer provide their services even though CovCath's season has ended. We are real lucky here in the 9th Region to have the opportunity to be kept informed by these guys who really know how to call a good game and do a fine job in bringing it to us in such brilliant fashion. Quite often I'll listen in on their archives even if I've already seen the game just because it's always a fun and exciting listen, and it gives me an opportunity to relive the game. Thanks guys for your undying enthusiasm and for making 9th Region Basketball all the more exciting and enjoyable. :thumb:

I would hope so too, as the CovCath guys have been doing it for years now.

 

Personally, I was hoping for "Theoldguys assist of the game" but then again, I am :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::idunno:
