February 20, 200917 yr 5 more games for a young team including 2 in MSG. Just sayin... How young is this team? They start 4 juniors and a sophomore.
February 20, 200917 yr How young is this team? They start 4 juniors and a sophomore. Meeks missed the majority of his sophmore year and wasn't 100% in the games he did play. Harris came in midway through his freshman year and has missed a good bit of time due to injuries. Porter wasn't really brought in to be a starting PG, but you could count both him and Perry as true juniors. Then you've got Patterson who also missed quite a few games last year. So maybe the starters aren't super young, but they're not as experienced as their classes would suggest. The bench is where you get really young. Stewart is the only bench player that sees significant minutes who was even at UK last year. Miller - Freshman Liggins - Freshman Harrellson - Sophmore (1st year at UK) Stewart - Sophmore Galloway - Junior (1st year at UK)
February 20, 200917 yr I would like to see what other teams that won the NIT title did the next year. Alot to think about, if they were young or not. South Carolina had an NIT dynasty for a couple years
February 20, 200917 yr I take making the NCAA tournament. A first round loss there would be much better than a first round loss in the NIT. With this team there is no guaranteed wins.
February 20, 200917 yr South Carolina had an NIT dynasty for a couple years  I was getting ready to post that. SC won back to back in 05 and 06 and what did that get them?

February 22, 200917 yr Definately better imo to make the NCAA tournament even with a first round loss. I am a U.K. fan and if they would ever miss the big dance and only get an N.I.T. bid, I of course would watch and support them but realistically all the NIT will do is give a teama few more practices and add some $$$ to the school. Certainly nothing else for a program like U.K.. JMO
