Who will win the 9th Region?

Featured Replies

This would be the perfect scenario for Highlands. I hope they get another shot at Beechwood on a neutral court.

Same here. I'd love to see the Birds get Beechwood again on a neutral court and avoid Holmes until the finals.

A perfect scenario for me would be Holmes knocking out Boone in the semi's and then meeting Highlands in the finals. :thumb:

I look for Holmes to win the whole thing but I think the real challenge they are going to have is Highlands. They are playing very well right now.

I agree. Even though Boone beat Holmes, I still think Highlands is Holmes' biggest threat. Highlands played Holmes tough on their home floor.

If all 4 are lucky enough to make it, I think Holmes, St. Henry, Ryle, and Highlands all have an advantage considering they've all played at the BOK Center before.

 I think that Holmes is the favorite.

Boone!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't surprise me you'd pick them.

Your picks on Elliott games doesn't surprise me either!!!!!!!!!!

I think Holmes walks through the 9th region.

They looked like they were walking when they played Boone!!!!!!!!!!

Holmes is the obvious favorite.

I disagee with Eta that Highlands is a bigger threat than Boone. Boone showed that you can play tough man-to-man defense and hurt Holmes. Highlands doesn't have the depth nor athletes that Boone does to play that D. I like Lother a lot but he's a big step below Gabbard at the PG position. He hurt Holmes with penetration. Add in what I consider a depth advantage for Boone plus one of the smartest and best passers in NKY in McFarland and I'd say Boone is the biggest threat.

I don't expect to see the same performance again. They were sleepwalking during that game but they will be wide-awake when it comes tournament time.

Just like EC against Shelby Valley...right?? BTW, didn't Holmes lose on Boone's homefloor and not on a neutral floor? :sssh:

Why would Highlands not be a bigger threat? They beat Boone by 14 and already played Holmes tough at Holmes. Boone beat Holmes at Boone and Holmes played absolutely horrible, while also having their best player in Pittman play sparingly because of an injury. It's going to be very tough for Boone to have a repeat performance on a neutral court and honestly, no team in nky is going to beat Holmes twice in the same season. Henley is too good of a coach and will make the proper adjustments. Holmes will press Boone and get a lot of turnovers. It worked against them last year and when Holmes used it against them in the 4th quarter this year it worked well.

Highlands has also already played at BOK Center before which will end up being an advantage for them IMO. I also wouldn't agree with the depth part. Highlands depth inside is enough to give ANY team problems. They have more athleticism than you think. The only player I'd give an athleticism advantage to over any of the Highlands players is probably Cotton.

I've said earlier, I am hoping Highlands would get Holmes in the semis, with Boone looming on the other side. Maybe Holmes would just slightly dismiss Highlands, looking forward to a Boone rematch. I think if Holmes gets to the finals, no one beats them there.

Holmes is the clear favorite.

33rd: I'll take Boone and Ryle.

34th: Dixie and St. Henry

35th: Holmes and CovCath

36th: NewCath and Highlands
