There will be a parent meeting tonight at 5:30 for all parents, this is being held by Coach Copley. Following there will be a booster meeting, important information will be gone over at both meetings.All who can need to attend for the support of your Greenup County Football 2009 team. Practice starts tonight!!!!!!!! Youth camp finished strong. The kids learned alot and I think Coach Copley made a good first impression with alot of the parents this week. Parents toured the newly remodeled locker and weightroom after the camp and all I heard were high praises by all the youth parents. Also would like to thank the H.S. players for the time and patience they showed with the boys this week. When camp ended with all H.S. and youth players in a pile with a loud chant of "Family", It was a beautiful thing.

Had a good turnout last night for the opening of mandatory practice. Coach met with the parents before practice started and introduced his coaches and talked about his expectations. I loved his emphasis on grades. He will be stricter than the very poor KHSAA standards.

We did lose a player this summer due to grades. With the new coach's emphasis on grades, and higher expectations this shouldn't be a problem in the future. Coach will be checking grades on a weekly basis and boys with any grade lower than a C will lose playing time. Coach Copley has arranged for after practice tutoring for those that need the extra help.

We also lost the same kid to Raceland.

The numbers are pretty good. (more than 50) Mini camp starts this Wednesday. The boys will eat and sleep football for three days! (Wish I could be there!!)

This is great! I am glad to hear that camp is starting soon. This will really unify the boys.

With the cancellation of the Bates MMA fight on Friday night (August 28th), will the Russell/Greenup game change back to a Friday kick-off or remain a Saturday night game?
