February 18, 200917 yr I don't know how shocked I would be, but I would honestly be pretty upset about it. Is Griffey now the "clean" greatest player of this past era?
February 18, 200917 yr Didn't Canseco mention A-Rod in one of his books before this latest thing came out?Canseco has mentioned a lot of people as part of his scorched-earth approach. I don't know that his credibility is intact. Rodriguez has just now been officially outed. Sports Illustrated has much more credibility than the ex-Bash Brother.
February 18, 200917 yr Author Ok, i'll admit it. I'd be shocked, I just don't see the mass on him that these other guys had. True, but he got fat pretty quick. There was a lot of juice flowing in Seattle while he was there.
February 18, 200917 yr Author I'd be willing to bet that Jay Buhner used the juice. He was a 20-25 Hr guy then in '95, '96 and '97 he goes for 40+, then just faded away. Who was Griffey's best friend in Seattle? Jay Buhner.
February 18, 200917 yr Given that he never really pumped up and spent a ton of time on the injured list, I would be shocked.
February 18, 200917 yr I would not be shocked at all. The longer time goes on, Canseco sounds more credible.
February 18, 200917 yr I would not be shocked at all. The longer time goes on, Canseco sounds more credible. But Canseco never said anything about Griffey. So that's not relevant.
February 18, 200917 yr True, but he got fat pretty quick. So did I. There was a lot of juice flowing in Seattle while he was there. I know quite a few of my friends who have done it, I never did.
February 18, 200917 yr Lack of flexibility or lack of making an effort to keep himself flexible and in shape? :idunno: I agree w/ that.
February 18, 200917 yr Griffey was never on the juice. He didn't hit like he was on the juice either. Prettiest swing in baseball. He didn't hit those towering home runs like Mcgwire, Sosa, Canseco etc...He hit line drives. He could run better then anyone in the game and I believe steroids would have hindered his speed in Center Field. Griffey was NEVER on the juice and it's so obvious.

Sports Illustrated has much more credibility than the ex-Bash Brother. His approach wasn't scorched earth. He concentrated on McGwire and his old Ranger teammates. He actually gave Clemens a pass and said that he had never used. He didn't make mention of A-Rod and steroids, he mentioned him as fake. He said, basically, that he came from the same finishing school as Cal Ripken, but mentioned neither as 'roid users. So far he's been pretty credible. He's mentioned McGwire, Palmeiro, Pudge, and Igor as 'roid users.

Not positive, but I believe Canseco did mention both Clemens and A-Rod as a potential users in his second book, "Vindicated."
February 18, 200917 yr Not positive, but I believe Canseco did mention both Clemens and A-Rod as a potential users in his second book, "Vindicated." I hadn't read the second one yet. I was going on on "Juiced." If he did, then my answer is outdated.
