Elloitt County seems to be ready for tournament time. Bad time to be hosting EC for senior night.

Elliot has made statements all season, I believe that last week (Mason&Ballard) was a bigger statement than a win over Russell would be.

 

As for this one, imo Elliot names the score (as they have over most 16th region opponets this season).

What year is Ison? Didn't he give them some decent minutes in the Mason County game? How has Elliott County's JV team done this year? Going up against the Varisty everday in practice should be very good experience for them heading into next year.

Hard to get this kind of experience. This is a point I wasn't thinking about until you brought it up, LRCW. Once again, I find myself giving you koudos.

I think you will see the starters only playing about 16 minutes in this game.

The only reason I even say that much is remember they don't have another game for 7 days until the district. Much like the regional to state. If you win the region on Tuesday night you don't play in Rupp until 9 days later on a Thursday night. Rest is good, but 7-9 days and these guys get real itchy to play a game against anybody.

I'd say the starters play more than 16 minutes as it is hard to keep these boys on the bench. They want to play and play hard. They don't want to sit the bench and watch. Anyway back on track I'll take Elliott.

Although, this game may not be pretty, I for one have to tip my hat for the way these young devils have battled night in and night out. No matter what the results, true Russell fans have to be proud of this team and the district championship is not out of reach!

I just want to caution all the great fans from Elliott Co. about the roads on the way to Russell...........they have this stuff on them ......blacktop , be careful. We don't have very many mountain men or real bad curves where your headlights touch your tail lights, you may see a deer or two.........both kinds,

(two and four legged)and we don't do any discriminating(we take both pretty and ugly fans). So just show up and plan on having a good time, that's what we do here!:thumb::notworthy:

I agree with you. Even though they've lost a lot of games, they have provided a lot of entertainment thanks to their excellent effort this season. The JV team has a good record and that is with a few guys that should be playing on the JV team age-wise playing varsity. I look for very good things from Russell starting next year. The underclassmen will have another year of experience and next year's seniors will be better than a lot of people expect. They may take a couple more losses this week with Elliott County at home and Ashland on the road, but I hope they keep delivering the same effort and inspired play on into the district game with Greenup. Greenup is a talented team, but that is a winnable game for Russell and I hope this week's games don't affect their outlook. They've got to just keep up the same effort no matter the results.

I say the senior's on both teams should play a LOT!!! It is the last regular season game
