I choose to go with the NON-PARTISAN Congressional Budget Office on this one. In a sense the economy will be the same if not better if O does nothing to try and stimulate it. Especially with this bill.

I support some of the things that are in this bill (like a "smart grid", some of the alternative energy spending). But WHY is there no look at nuclear?

 

Obama says we have got to change. Nuclear gives us a clean and safe change. Its been proven in France and in our own nuclear ships.

 

One answer is regulation. Who sets these regulations? Hmm... I'll leave that up to you guys to answer.

 

Obama has NO answer for "energy independence" except for wind power. Thats all well and good, but there is no real proven way to "transport" wind power over long distances.

According to that article the chair of the commission withdrew the charges, not Obama. Also, the charges were withdrawn but it does not lead to his release. They are looking at bringing new charges in a different court system that will be more likely to be held up as legitimate and defensible as a fair trial. :thumb:

I'm not one that's always trustful of the government, there has been talk from some about having a global financial system through the U.N., I'm not saying the Obama Administration is wanting to do that, it's just that with the current problems we're having, we can't be sure of anything these days. Sounds paranoid, I know, but who knows anymore?

Another problem I have is if they say your thermostat should be at 68 degrees and you like it at 74 would the government charge you for more per kilowatt? If they tell you it's best for you to use your dishwasher, or washing machine or clothes dryer at specific time, will they penalize you if you use it at a different time? I don't like the thought of that.

Why did the chair of the commission withdraw the charges? Did it have anything to do with Obama's pen stroke? Would this guy's charges (or whatever) be dropped if Bush was still president?

 

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I do understand that this doesn't mean the prisoner will be released. It's my understanding that he will more than likely be moved to a prison near you where he will be furnished with a lawyer that could possibly get him released on some kind of technicality...Like one of our Marines not reading him his rights on the battlefield.

You were ready to support Obama, and you've given him 2 and a half weeks...pretty magnanimous of you, and darned patient if I do say so myself. :lol: I don't think that conservatives will be ignored in the next 4 years. In fact, I think that time will prove that Obama IS able to bring a new level of unity to the process. I also feel that there are some who pay lipservice to the idea of giving Obama a chance, but are absolutely ready to balk at every idea he proposes, for the simple sake of hoping he fails. If this country is to be united, all parties must make the effort. If people TRUELY want to give Obama a chance, they'll realize that 2 and a half weeks is only a small fraction of the next 4 years.
