Scott County 76 Franklin County 68

Featured Replies

I know nothing about their two opponents in the New York Tournament, Jamesville DeWitt and Wings Academy.

I do know that they now have two in-state defeats, losses at Holmes (70-48) and at home to Scott County (76-68). I guess you could leave this game saying Holmes and Scott County are the two best teams in the state and no one would argue.

After seeing them both play quite a bit, I would say without hesitation that Holmes is the best team in the state.

Franklin Co. will be a tough out come postseason.

Heard a parent confronted an official after the game. This should never happen at any level.

Yes I agree. That is crossing the line. I was told it was infront of the son, too.

I also was told the parent was acusing the official he and another official was calling against his son. The official he confronted was overheard saying you are kidding. I can't believe as hard as the officials work on the court they have to put up with that kind of stuff off the court.

Great game tonight at FC. The Flyers really didnt play well in the first half. They had a lot of missed shots and silly turnovers. I was very impressed with the way Guyn took over the game in the second half. The first half was all about Phares, played a tremendous game. After halftime Scott County came out and attacked the basket every trip down the court. Chad Jackson missed some free throws early in the game but hit them when it counted. Euton, well all I can say is I thought he was outplayed by Andy Donovan the entire game and wasnt much of a factor. Hicks had a great game for the Flyers tonight who really didnt find there stride until about 4:00 left in the game. Barrett Meyer being in foul trouble in the second half didnt help the situation much either. I didnt see any really bad calls, maybe one travel on a fast break by Phares in the 4th quarter, but nothing that made me stand up and say someone is getting messed over here. All in all a good game, a great atmosphere for high school basketball, and Fanofthe11th wasnt kidding that dance team tore it up tonight for the Flyers. I believe if these two meet again in the Regional tournament it will be a different outcome. Scott County has escaped the last two meetings with close wins next time the Flyers pull it off. Anyone, and I repeat anyone, who thinks FCHS shouldnt be ranked in the top 15-20 is out of their mind. Tough games left with Clark County, Anderson County, Tates Creek, and at Madison Central but I believe the quality of the Flyers will be shown at the end of the season, once again a great night of basketball.

That was a very good game. I am glad I was able to make the trip. I believe Franklin may have the 2nd best team in the 11th region. I don't believe any other team besides Scott Co. has 7 players who are all that good. They have a lot of weapons and really play hard. Also they have a great home court atmosphere.

Anyways as for players, this may have been the best game I have seen Guyn play. Not only did he start attacking the basket and dominated at times in the 2nd half, but he really shut down Meyer until the end when he got loose a couple times off of screens where Guyn had to step off. Jackson missing so many free throws helped keep Franklin in the game. Phares also had a nice game.

As for Franklin I was really impressed with Connor. He really gets after it. Also Donovan had a very good game as well.

Meyer missed a bunch of threes he usually hits. Some must have been due to Guyn's length, but there were a few wide open threes that were in and out which usually fall for him. He was 45% on the year from three entering the game and didn't come close to that percentage tonight. Again credit Guyn's defense and length, but those who saw the game know there were some wide open ones that usually fall.

Sounds like a good one, I was anxious to see how close this one turned out.

Nice win for SC and my hat is off to the Franklin players for playing so hard.

I think games like this show it's going to be tough for SC to get out of the 11th and they really aren't that far ahead of the rest of the pack like some predict.

Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Not surprised to hear this after listening to some of the FC faithfull at the Holmes - FC game. It was very entertaining.

Was it an FC parent? I don't think you should automatically assume that it was. I was around most of the parents from the FC side after the game and did not see anything like this go down.

Furthermore, the refs did not determine the outcome of the game, the players did.

Not good! Plus hasn't KY enacted a law that makes it a felony (if the confrontation becomes physical)?

Much of the rest of the pack is pretty daggone good in the 11th. That tourney is usually a meat-grinder.

11th region is not going to be easy to come out of. Another good hard fought game for Scott County.

Thanks for clearing that up, because as I said I did not see any of the FC parents reacting any other way than just being disappointed in the loss.
