Scott County 76 Franklin County 68

Featured Replies

They played 5 guys most of the minutes last night(Phares, Guyn, Euton, Jackson and Manning) Flannery played about 2-3 minutes, and Ford played 2-3 minutes. That was it for Scott County.

Scott Co having depth issues? Seems strange that depth would be an issue with the players they have on the roster. With the players they had in the program and the players that were added it would seem depth would not be a problem.

Whatever happened to Robbie Barber? I have seen him listed as a top 25 player in the class of 2011 but don't hear his name mentioned much in the Scott Co threads.

Plays JV, but is way down the bench on varsity.

Yeah, the Barber kid starts JV, but didn't even dress Varsity against Franklin Co.

Is Barber a transfer?
Is Barber a transfer?
Yes, he started for Rose Hill last season.

That is amazing the number of players that are moving to Scott Co. for high school. I think the Ivey kid still lives in Frankfort. I guess you wouldn't have to develop kids if your program is such that that many kids move to the county or cross the county line to attend your school. With three middle schools feeding the high school as well it makes for a huge advantage. About all I can say is that's one heck of a program.

Barber is a transfer too? Wow...nearly half of Scott County's roster is transfers!!

Guyn- Henry Clay

Euton- Rose Hill

Jackson- Rose Hill

Barber- Rose Hill

Flannery- Boone County

Shotwell- Lexington Christian

Also Ivey isn't a "true" Scott County kid. Scott County is a good school, but honestly people would be foolish to think they'd maintain the success they've had the past decade without transfers coming in every year...

Guyn- Lafayette
Henry Clay, actually ...

I believe Shotwell is a Scott County native that transferred to LCA, then came back. Kinda like the Johnsons.

My bad, I was thinking of Sanford who's from Lafayette originally before transferring to Lexcath.

As far as Shotwell, I think Euton, Jackson, and Flannery coming to SC had a lot to do with him coming back.....

I don't believe Scott Co. had any transfers 2 years ago when they won a state title. I think a lot of students just want to go somewhere they can be successful and help them get a college scholarship or be more prepared for college ball.

If you look right now where would Holmes be without the Johnson boys and Housely. Where would Clark Co. be without Vinny Zollo. Donovan transferre to Franklin Co, Mason Co. has the Barner kid who transferred in. Hazard has 3 transfers that are key to their success. Lexington Catholic has Sanford and the Beckham brothers. Thats whats going on all over the state.

Housely is the only "real" transfer that Holmes has. Both Johnson Brothers are originally Holmes boys and only left for their freshman year. It's not like they just fell in the lap of Coach Henley like the other players mentioned. They grew up in Covington and attended school with the players they're playing with today.

I didn't know that Barner and Donovan were both transfers though..where did they come from?

Thats surprising.....you would think a kid who is ranked in the top 25 in his class for 2011 would at least dress varsity. Probably more typical of the problems with these "lists" or rankings.

Lets see. The Johnson boys started high school at high school in Ohio. The next year they are at a high school in Kentucky. But they are not "real transfers." :ohbrother:

If I am not mistaken Donovan transferred from LexCath. I think Barner transferred from Bryan Station. I maybe wrong on Barner though. It may have been a different high school.

Their situation is inherently different than many of the other transfers you've mentioned.
