Eastin and Volpenhien. I think either of those two will guard Romes and then Giwa will be on Buettel.

Eastin is a very good defender along with Volpenhein. IMO they are the two best on Holy Cross. I have not seen Romes play this year so I really couldn't tell you.

Romes and Beuttel are both going to get theirs regardless of who's guarding them. They put up 18 and 16, respectively, against Holmes. A lot of Romes points are going to come in transition though and Beuttel's from 3 point land.

 

IMO HC needs to focus on shutting down Pohlgeers and Snyder. Those are the two who quitely hurt other teams because so much focus is put on Beuttel and Romes..

Romes is VERY athletic and quick. He can dunk it about any way you want. His game is all about taking the ball to the basket. He is much more a slasher than a shooter. Beuttel is the exact opposite. Beuttel is all about hitting the open jumper and he is a very good shooter.

And I will agree with you on Snyder. He is the unsung cog in the Beechwood success story. He is that guy who does all the gritty jobs and makes hustle plays when you need it. Good rebounder and defender and high post man on offense.

Snyder came up HUGE against both Covcath and Highlands.

I hope a lot of Beechwood fans come down to HC for this one. Should be a great environment and game.:thumb::popcorn:

You act like you have never been to a game at Holy Cross gym. The grade school kids get there before most people get off work and for big games you are lucky to even get into the place.

I mean there is a few that run around in the lobby but its not like they are keeping people out with overwhelming numbers. For big games the HC students get there right after school and hang out infront of the gym.

EZ, when is the last time you went to a game at HC?

Back in the 60's & 70's there were a lot of grade school kids at the games. The only games you had to get to early were CCH and Holmes though.

I guarantee you there aren't 10 grade school kids that aren't siblings of players or coaches in the stands now though.

Not this again. Do you really think that HC sends out a memo telling everyone to get there early even to the grade school? The grade school kids have just as much right to pay the money and watch the game as anyone else. If you look in the student section you won't see them in there because the high school doesn't have anything to do with them being there, they go because they want to.:ohbrother:
