I agree... but would business owners allow employees off for the Superbowl?

 

I went to a restaurant last night that had a sign on the door saying they would be closed 30 minutes before kickoff so their employees can go watch the game. Sounds like a great part-time job to me!

The game should be on prime time Saturday at 8:00,but you we all know they're not going to mess with that.The SB will cont. to be on Sunday. Sorry guys, that just the way it is.

I agree. I believe the question of this tread was, which day would be better?

 

For most working, every day people Saturday night would be the most fun. I also believe local businesses would fare MUCH better on Saturday.

 

However, the NFL has their own agenda.:ohbrother:

 

So be it. I will be in my jammies with my favorite food and my "grid numbers" and will enjoy myself thoroughly! Hope you all do the same! :ylsuper:

Church the next morning or work the next morning...

 

Church is at 11:00 and work is at 8:00. I can make church alot easier.

Laundry, ironing, church, planning meals for the following week, grocery shopping, getting kids organized for school the next day, checking in on elderly relatives, making sure all the cars have gas, and remembering that we have to get up early for work the next day.:ohbrother:

Yes, it is a money thing. Many more people would go out on a Saturday night, spend more money and stay out later.

 

Changing it to Saturday could be part of the "stimulus" package!

Change Super Bowl to Saturday night as we cannot enjoy ourselves to the fullest and still get to work the next day.

NCAA Championship should not be held on Monday Night because we cannot get to work on Tuesday?

MLB World Sereis games should only be played on Saturday nights because we cannot get to work on the Tuesday, Thursday, whatever day, so that the final series would take 7 weeks to complete?

NBA Championship should be the same as Baseball, same reasons.

Bowl Championship Games, They could play 15 games on one Saturday, 15 the next, then on the third Saturday, they could play the big 4 one after the other.

 

Take a vacation day. Call in sick. Suck it up! I drink, I party, I have fun, I get up at 5:30 am and go to work, and I am old!

You know I was thinking wouldn't it be smarter to play the Super Bowl on Saturday rather than Sunday? I know tradition dictates that it be on Sunday but don't you just hate having to go to work on Monday after the Super Bowl. It is kind of a let down for me, after all the eating and making merry. I always hold back just a little considering I have to work on Monday.

 

I think it would be much more fun everyone if it was on Saturday.

 

I agree 100% and have been saying it for years!

I think the Monday following the Super Bowl should just be turned into a national holiday. That way you wouldn't have to lose the Sunday tradition, but you would be able to let loose a little more that night.

The SB is on a different level than the other games you mentioned.

It is, but it is only a matter of time before people start whinning about them as well.

 

It is funny to me that I have read hundreds of threads that talk about "when I played", When we were kids", basically saying that they do not want to accept that change is needed because of a different time, or era. Yet when it is something that THEY want, the tune changes. "When I was a kid the Super Bowl was played on Sunday".

I beg to differ that people will begin to whine about the days the other games are played. The Super Bowl is and will be for a long long time the biggest championship game in the US.

You are probably right, and they would go on to say "It is so much better now that it is on Saturday"

I remember the Super Bowl being on earlier in the day on Sunday when I was in HS. I know it was on around 5 or so because for a few years the network showed the Sound of Music right after the game as the prime time movie. I know a 5 o'clock start gives the west coast an earlier start time and less tailgating time before the game, but its really not fair to have the late start for the people on the east coast who have to get up and go to work the next day. I say keep it on Sunday but move the start time up to 5 or 6.
