Trees, they are a-fallin'

Featured Replies

The fire department just left our house. Man am I shook up! I was in bed and heard a horible crash and a rushing noise like an avalanche. Turns out a huge part of the tree up against the back of the house has fallen on to our deck. Then we started smelling something that smelled like something being too hot or wire burning. Called 911 and the firemen went all through the house, attic and basement. They used a special camera to try to locate hot spots; but they cant locate the source at this point. They had to go on another call but said if it gets worse or anything happens to call back. Now we're just sitting here on pins and needles.

I hope no one leaves there house. I got a call from work and they said don't come in. Trees are down all over the area, several nice large sized ones.

A tree fall across our creek this morning, and while I was on the phone with one of my buddies a 30 foot branch fell on his neighbor's car.

It has stopped snowing here and now I can see numerous limbs (big ones) in our backyard....Oh now I know what exciting stuff I will be doing this weekend.:clap::clap:

The sun is popping out in NKY!!! :dancingpa

Mcdaughter just called from Georgetown and said that most students had to move their cars to places with no trees nearby. A big effort by campus safety to help get them moved to open areas.

Most of Bardstown has been without power since around 8 p.m. last night. I finally broke down and came up to my brother's place in L'ville so I could finish the load of clothes that was in the washer when the power went down on me.

Looked like an inch to 1 1/2-inches of ice. Tree branches look like cornstalks. Pretty wild driving through Bernheim Forest -- several trees down in the highway. Roads are mostly clear, though.

There were trees falling or severely breaking at a rate of about 5 or more a minute all through the night last night in Danville. I have never seen or heard anything like it.

BTW, Adopted Admiral was huddled next to the fireplace playing the guitar and warming up chili the last time I talked to him. He said he might not have power for another day or two and he missed BGP!

I feel his pain... I'm at my girlfriends momma's house staying the night. No electricity at my house... Probably won't be until Friday.

We're at my wife's grandparent's house in Morehead tonight. I feel your pain, as well :thumb:
