January 27, 200917 yr Right now I've got 5.5 inches of snow with a little ice and they are calling for 2-4 more tomorrow. I heard that Mt. Olivet has 8. What about everyone else?
January 27, 200917 yr We just went sledding. Our son loved it, but our daughter was freezing and still too young lol. It started raining/sleeting while we were out and we got wet real quick. FYI sleds are $30 bucks at Wal-mart. Insane.

January 27, 200917 yr It's been mostly rain here in Owsley County all day. There's ice all over the grass, trees, and power lines. The roads are in pretty good shape, though. I just hope none of the lines come down. There's already been a few trees that's fallen, and a bunch of tree limbs.

January 27, 200917 yr We have power outages here in Richmond. Mainly west of I-75 in the area of the new shopping center at exit 87. We have been stepping outside of our house and we can hear tree limbs snapping. A house two doors down from mine has had a big tree limb break and land on it's roof.
January 27, 200917 yr Just got a message when trying to make a long-distance call to the effect that all long-distance services are down. Second try was with the cell - it worked. We have been fortunate in the past - we are the last house in our subdivision with underground utilities. Our next-door-neighbors' utilities are above-ground. As a result, while we still experience outages, they are generally not as prolonged as those of the folks down the street. Probably just jinxed us...
January 28, 200917 yr I checked the weather for Morehead and the precipitation for tonight and tomorrow until sunset is 100%. Low of 23 tonight and high of 32 tomorrow, so I don't know how much more snow accumulation we will get. I'll say though that we have more than enough Ice, to host next year's Winter Classic. Forget Wrigley, bring it to downtown Morehead!
January 28, 200917 yr Well props to the weather guy this time around. I think they were right on the money with this storm. Its very pretty snow that is falling. FF is working today, he said believe ti or not, the roads are in better condition than he thought they would be.
January 28, 200917 yr I have never seen such large snow flakes before. Some of them are the size of a golf ball! Amazing.
