I think Dematha is the best high school team in Maryland - maybe not this year, but overall.

I grew up there, but many years ago.

 

 

Great basketball around the DC area, some good ball also in Baltimore. Not much else as a rule.

Not sure if it was a season high today or not, but Pittman had 6 blocks which is very impressive considering Largo's front line was 6'4, 6'5, 6'7.

Showing my age here; one of the more interesting games I saw was Baltimore Dunbar, with Skip Wise, beating Dematha, with Adrian Dantley. I saw the game on television, not in person. I was a senior in HS.

 

I am a bit surprised that this was a 7-point game, given how much Largo lost off their team from last year. Still, a win is a win and congrats to Holmes for keeping the streak alive.:thumb:

Second quarter really hurt Holmes. Largo killed them on the offensive glass and won the quarter 22-11 with Rico on the bench in foul trouble. Other than that, Holmes pretty much controlled the game.

Largo would be a top 15 team in Kentucky. They are very similar to Ballard only with more size.

 

They also have 4 D1 prospects on their team.

 

Malik Thomas- Hampton, High Point, Navy

Aaron Martin- UMBC

Rashaurd Richardson- West Virginia Tech

They are in an NAIA conference but compete against some smaller "DI-AA" schools as well.

I played against West Virginia Tech when I was in college. They are NAIA if I'm not mistaking.

I think you misunderstood my post. Richardson is a D1 prospect but committed to WV Tech. Martin is committed to UMBC and Smith committed to Navy, hence the reason they only have one team next to their names.

 

Thomas is the only one not committed yet.

There is a difference in was and is! I am not a Know it all but I know enough to know that ETA was trying to reflect that Largo was a power house with 4 D1 players!

That is clearly not the case. Now you all can come on back with anything you want but it is plain to see the original intention of the post!
