How Bad is the SEC?

Well, if UK is the SEC's best (which remains to be seen), it seems to be right in line with what most have been saying for weeks now... even on here.

I can't argue with that assessment.

In the ACC, you know UNC, Wake and Duke are definitely better...Miami has a W over UK...

Honestly, 5th best in the ACC is a conservative estimate...they may be lower.

Could be as low as around 10th best in the Big East.

I don't know if I agree or disagree, I just thought it was an interesting point of view.

I don't see how you could disagree. Saying 5th and 8th is being nice. He's just stating the obvious and giving the SEC the nod over some teams in the Big East and ACC that you could probably argue are better than the SEC as well.

Just my two cents...

Again, it is simply a restatment of everything we have been saying on BGP. Maybe we are just ahead of the curve :D

I agree the SEC is down, but UK has already beaten WVU who thrased G'town, ... lost to UL (undefeated in the Big East) on a last second 27 foot 3 pointer, ... so maybe it isn't the worse conference in the history of college basketball they way some are potraying it. Is it down this year? Absolutely. Probably only about 4-5 will get into the dance.

I do not think UK is as bad as many originally thought because of the emergence of Jodie M.

The conference is definitly having a bad year. But I believe that there is a lot of programs who are young and should be very good next year. I think we will see UK, UT, UF, Ark, and Miss St be very good next year.

I believe the SEC had 1/4 of the top 100 recruits in the country last season according to ESPN rankings so there is some validity to that statement. The problem is, recruits such as Miller, Liggins, etc. have not had quite the immediate impact many thought they would.

I feel the SEC is way down this season.

A few very young teams that will be good (Vanderbilt) and one of the very worst basketball team I have seen in the conference in quite a while (Georgia).

I am raising my Kentucky conference record prediction based on what I have seen on this conference so far. I say Kentucky might win 12 or 13 in the SEC not just because they are coming together and playing well, but as by default.

After watching this Raycom double-header, I've got to say this is as bad as I've ever seen this conference. It is kind of hard to watch...

Right now I'd say the only way 4 teams get into the NCAA is if a dark horse wins the SEC tourney. UF. UK and LSU look to be the best but can you honestly say that any of them is a lock? What would be their seeds.......7th to 9th?
