We UK fans can always pull out out "7 national championships" and "Most wins in college basketball history" cards. I think that bothers some UL fans. UK leads UL in just about every category historically.

 

UL can always pull out the "what have you done lately" card and that eats away at some Cats fans.

 

I see it as (I won't use big brother/little brother) brother "A" has done more over his career but brother "B" is proving that he can catch up if brother "A" doesn't start doing something.

That is my one complaint about the UL fans I have met. I'm from EKY and only associate with 3 true UL fans and they can't decide if they want to be a football or basketball powerhouse. It varies depending on which team is doing better.

Fair enough... But the championships are 2-2 since 1980, 3-2 UK since 1960. You're really gonna claim championships when your parents were toddlers? :lol:

Louisville has made a Final Four since then, but that's about it. Kentucky has dominated the SEC since then and has been the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, but to no avail.

 

In all honesty, I don't think either team has a big advantage over the other in the "what have you done lately" department...

I think that UK fans want U of L fans to have an inferiority complex when it comes to UK basketball...Truth be told, that's not the case. Louisville has made a BIG BIG name for itself in the history books, and is now a major player in one of the most dominant conferences of all time. UK, while still having some tremendous historical accolades, seems to be behind Louisville in regards to the round ball.
