It's a pretty good poll.

Les, what members of the media are involved in the voting?

Here ya go. I just wish more would vote.

This is who voted this past week:

The Daily Independent, Ashland; Times-Tribune, Corbin; The News-Enterprise, Elizabethtown; Glasgow Daily Times; Daily Enterprise, Harlan; The Gleaner, Henderson; Kentucky New Era, Hopkinsville; Lexington Herald-Leader; The Courier-Journal, Louisville; The Ledger-Independent; The Murray Ledger & Times; The Paducah Sun; Kentucky Enquirer, Fort Mitchell; WAVE; WKYX; WSON; WTVQ.

Thanks.

Holmes the unanimous selection at #1 with 14 of 18 first place votes.

I'd say this is probably the most accurate poll I've seen.

Not unanimous, but still the best at this point! :thumb:

Which might explain why somebody like Anderson County didn't make the poll. No representation from among the pollsters. If you count all the "also receiving votes" teams, then - according to this poll - Anderson County isn't in the top 32 teams in the state? Puh-leeze.

I would argue that North Oldham should have received some votes. I'm very impressed with the Mustangs...

I don't know that anyone doesn't think Anderson isn't among the state's top 32 teams. The problem is this ... the media outlets only vote for 10 teams.

That is the problem with the AP poll ... somewhere, some voters are actually listing the likes of Russell County, John Hardin, West Carter and Middlesboro as one of the top 10 teams in the states.

I'd flip flop Corbin and Catholic considering Corbin beat them pretty convingly for 29 minutes of the game until LC hit everything. I'm not too sure there are 8 teams that could beat Corbin 2 outta 3 times. The way they are playing right now, maybe 3 or 4 could. Overall pretty good top 10 though. There other receiving votes are kinda messed up though. Anderson County should definitely be in this top 10 or 15 at the very very worst. Oh well, it's just a poll. Like I say, they are just for fans to debate. They will play themselves out in February and March.

I agree with the result, for the most part. I would disagree with the statement that these voters have watched all of the teams. These are regional or local newspapers whose editors or writers are voting. I sincerely doubt, for example, that the Ashland Independent's voter has seen Holmes or almost anybody else outside the 16th Region or the opponents of 16th Region teams. That would explain why there are votes for teams like Middlesboro and West Carter, while teams such as Anderson County are left out.

I wasn't aware of that. With several parts of the state not represented, this makes the AP poll even more dubious. The top 10 doesn't really look all that bad, but when you look at some of the teams receiving votes, it's apparent that the fact that these voters don't see (cannot see) other areas of the state really hurts the poll's overall credibility.

Top 3 looks good to me. Holmes is the right pick for number 1 though as of right now.

I can understand folks problem with some of the other teams receiving votes, but honestly the top 10 is pretty dead on.
