I have seen the Faulkners talking to the refs on many occasions as a way to DISCUSS a particular call. They have done it respectfully and utilize this opportunity to learn from the experience in order to perfect their game/defense. But just because they are having a conversation with an official doesn't mean that they are attempting to influence him and they most certainly are not utilizing foul language. I don't know any of the officials personally, but with my observations over these many years I can honestly say that if any of them heard a player use profanity that individual would be penalized (technical) IMMEDIATELY.

 

I realize that everyone is supporting their own child/team, but attacking another child/children so publicly, personally and maliciously in an effort to destroy public opinion about these fine young men is not the way to conduct yourself.

Timmy Knipp does it all the time if he don't get his way.

True , but he said a bunch of players. And they do talk to the refs , even at the beach .

I would be the first to agree that during the EC/WC game, West players were just as bad. But, people make it out to say that Elliott would never do anything like that, and it's not true. Both teams, should have had a few T's that night, and that is a fact.

Do you know why? Their kids!!!! It's a natural thing. Even the most mild natured kids sometimes go at the officials. As for a T, I think that most players have to go at an official pretty hard in the 16th region before they get a technical, just from what I have watched. Cursing on the floor is something that happens from time to time, just as it happens at work or any place else. Every team is PROBABLY guilty of this, and IMO you just have to accept that. Because their kids!!! It happens. I'm not accusing anyone of cursing this season in particular because I haven't really paid attention to it this season but if someone said it happened it may have. Who knows? Maybe they were on a different part of the court then you were. Don't opposing fans generally sit on different sides?

No one is picking on Elliott, they are a fabulous team, but if you don't think that they have ever crossed the line in terms of complaining to the officials, every team is guilty as some point of time. Also, this is subjective. One person may feel something is too extreme, while another may see no problem in it.

Hey easy Cats!! If you will re-read my post you will see it is basically the same points that you made in the one above. You will also realize that I don't need to have my eyes checked because I stated that ALL kids in EVERY game I had watched complains and throws their hands up about calls made by the officials. What I said was that I didn't see no one getting out of hand like GTM was stating. AND everyone is always picking on Elliott!!!!!!!!!!

That was a wonderful game to watch. That's the passion I miss from the current Elliott Co. team.

 

You are joking, right? This team plays the game the way it is suppossed to be played every night and it gets better every year. They are well mannered and respectful young men. I suggest you talk to Joe B. Hall about his opinion on their attitudes. They have won over fans all of the state with their enthusiasm, hustle and dedication to the game. Your comments are the sourest of the sour grapes.

Elliott shot well and played decent defense. Fairview was clearly hurt, as any team would be without two starters. They played hard and did not quit in spite of the adversity. Just completely outmanned and overwhelmed. Did not witness any player misconduct by either team.

If anything out of sort's happened it would be the judgement call of the referee's I would assume. Therefore if the ref's don't see anything happening or warn of any violation's then I would say someone is grasping at straw's!!

The ref's are the judge and jury on the floor. They have rules and I am sure some of those rule's are based on judgement call, intensity of the game, etc, etc. In last night's game there were no warning's, no T's, no stopping to reprimand players, it was actually a very peacable and quite game. With that knowledge in hand I am going to make the statement that nothing worth discussing happened!!:thumb:
