Rd. 3: Who's the next coach at Covington Catholic?

That would be really difficult. Football as well as other sports demand on the field and off the field attention from the head coach.

Rumor has it that the new coach will be introduced at Sportsfest.

Not 100% sure on the date, but I believe it is mid-February.

Agreed, but CovCath is fortunate to have one of the better coaches in the state walking around the hallways and now running the conditioning program.

The question is will he be pacing the sidelines? Does anyone think that the powers that be have atleast asked him if he's interested?

No.

No.

As Clyde said, no & no.

Coach Ray is simply filling in for the interim so that the boys can have some structure & leadership. He knows what he's doing, and he's got plenty of free time since he can't golf in this weather. Add that to the fact that he loves football, and you've got a great match for a few weeks, maybe a month or two. That's it.

He will not be the next head coach at CCH.

I've been told by a VERY reliable source that Kevin Siple is not interested.

Well then it's down to three of whom I know of nobody for sure. But from what has been said on here, we have Wolfe and Wirth. And I know tomorrow is the deadline for applicants but does anybody really expect anyone of significance to come into play now. So whoever is on the radar screen has been there for awhile. So who is it. Wolfe or Wirth?

Kevin may not be interested any longer. At a time, Kevin was interested. If anyone, including Kevin, tells you different they are a liar.

I am told Woolf is out. I understand Rowe was very high on Woolf but Rowe doesn't have the juice to pull everything together and hire Woolf.

Doesn't have the juice to pull it together and get the guy who a lot of us want?

I'm no booster but to be honest this is high school football. We don't need a guy with extensive head coaching experience. We need a guy who understands CovCath and is committed to the school and players. That is what will turn it around.

Going from a public school to a private school involves an EXTENSIVE pay cut. People have families to think about.

Just my opinion, but big mistake on their part, as Wolfe would be a great head coach. This would be very good news for Ryle if he stays.

So BGP'rs are down to Wirth and whoever else applies by tomorrow. When is CovCath's sports stagg?
