Rd. 3: Who's the next coach at Covington Catholic?

Featured Replies

Just my opinion, but big mistake on their part, as Wolfe would be a great head coach. This would be very good news for Ryle if he stays.

My thinking is CovCath has no intention of doing "whatever it takes" to make their football program the best it can be.

I think CovCath will take the best they can get and cross their fingers.

We agree that "whatever it takes" is not always the right way, right?

I phrased it as "whatever it takes" not whatever it takes.

You read the wrong message in between my lines.

My head hurts trying to figure that one out, my man.

OK, in simple terms, if CCH was looking for a basketball coach I believe they would find a way to hire exactly the coach they wanted to hire assuming that coach had an interest in the job. And for the record I think that is exactly how CCH should go about hiring a basketball coach.

You've implied something similar multiple times.

Do you not think that Cov Cath football is top dog? Or do you think that they treat the programs differently? What is it?

Should they create a position that isn't open or doesn't exist? Pay said coach more than other teachers ?

I guess it depends on how important it is at CCH to have the best coach possible.

CCH has the cart before the horse. Everyone knows money is an issue at catholic schools so the CCH powers that be should have started working on a financial plan the minute Rowe started suggesting to people (during the season) that he was going to dump Brossart.

No question about it, basketball is King at CCH just like it is King at most schools in KY.

I don't buy that. I've always known CovCath to be a football school.

I disagree with that as well.

My guess is that looking at the triumvirate that just disagreed with him, the Guru is feeling even more confident in his belief.

Add me to the list of those who disagree as well.

CCH was kicking butt in basketball years before the football team even got on the radar. They are definitely more of a basketball school than a football school .
