It was relatively easy to prove Clinton lied under oath. After millions of taxpayer dollars it got us......... I totally agree!

With government wiretaps they are using what once was an illegal method of investigation to find more information.

 

It's not the same as investigating someone legally. So those are two different things, and I'm not necessarily for or against government wiretaps at the moment. There are reasons to support it, and reasons to be against it.

There was no criminal investigation of Bill Clinton's selling of pardons to felons, despite ample evidence - and Republicans were in charge of Congress. A partisan witch hunt with Bush and Cheney as the prey would set a horrible precedent, IMO.

Actually I remember one federal prosecutor pushing for a grand jury criminal investigation about just that over President Bush's objections. I can't remember how far the process went. Bush showed class in discouraging these types of witch hunts but a president cannot control the sharks when they smell blood. My guess is Obama will also discourage it but he won't be able to control the process any more than other presidents could.
