Glad to see this happen to them. MVP and MOP, in most tournaments this is the same thing.Maybe this is a SC thing.

Congrats to Elliot County.

Kentucky High School basketball must be a little better than I thought, if the 4th or 5th best team in the state is getting that kind of recognition.

Great job Elliott!!!

Has nothing to do with what they are ranked or if they are 5th best or 10th best. Has to do with how they play the game and people in South Carolina and around the state are falling (already fell many of them) in love with their relentless full court up and down style despite being a short team that starts four 6'1" guards. Just call up and ask Joe B. He is nuts about this team and has become a big time fan. The buzz in the smoking section out front of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center was about Elliott. Those neutral South Carolina fans were asking hundreds of questions about them and making positive comments about how fun they were to watch and how hard they play on both ends of the court. They may not be the best or win the state (only time will answer that one) but I have seen all the top teams and no one is more fun to watch and gets the adrenaline rush going like they do. (IMO)

This Elliott team took over Rupp Arena in the game against Mason County last season. It seemed like 3/4 of the crowd was cheering for Elliott.

If they get to Rupp and with each game they win the boat loads of neutral fans will jump on their ship big time. If they were to get to the final game it will appear that Elliott County has a population much greater than 6,500 or that every single person in the county is now in Rupp Arena.

Any idea when the write up in the courier will be coming out? My parents get the courier and have been watching it for me but they haven't seen anything yet.

Not sure about the actual hard copy paper since I hardly ever buy a paper. I use all the on-line paperless papers. Demling's blog was posted yesterday so it would have to be yesterday or the morning's paper. Since I haven't bought an actual Courier Journal in a long time I don't know if his blogs are in the paper or not?? Anyone else help eccheer out??

I only wish that winning the state would go as easily as winning that title! (And dont get me wrong, Im just agreeing, I would love to see that)!:thumb: And I feel it is a strong possibility!

This is nothing against Elliot County they obviously have a great team, but they didnt win that tourney, they won the consolation bracket.

I was referring to the title of most discussed team on BGP.

Sorry about that man, just making sure the facts were straight.

Nothing wrong with your post. I would have had no problem with it if I had been referring to the tourney.
