I might have to go this Frisch's in Bellevue for breakfast tomorrow so I can chow down on some goetta.

I had a goetta burger at The Bank of Kentucky Center. It wasn't bad as it had a nice crust to it from being cooked on the flat-top grill but it had already started to lose the heat after sitting under the heat lamps. Good taste that would have been much better if it was right off the grill.

My father was of German descent, born and raised in Covington (Go Holmes!) and he raised us on geotta, he even made his own once in a while. He also loved corn meal mush, but I really couldn't eat mush.

I like my geotta fried crispy with ketchup. Growing up, sometimes money was tight so my mother bought grotta instead of geotta. I think grotta is geotta without meat or something, I never have taken the time to read the label. I am almost ashamed to say I like grotta better than geotta because my siblings say it is wrong to like grotta. I have to sneak around to eat Jumpin' Joe's grotta.

Anyway, I have siblings that live in Tennessee and Florida and every time I go visit I have to freeze several rolls of geotta and take it to them. I usually buy all the geotta Kroger's has before a trip south.

Goetta is foul.

No doubt sista!!!!!!! :creepy:

You foreigners just don't know what's good. :p

I think I may have to stop by the Kroger's while in L'ville and see if they have any Glier's.

I like to let mine mash in the pan... Try making a Brushetta (tasted italian bread) with a fresh garlic butter and then topping it with a mixture of Goetta, Monetery Jack and Breadcrumbs (for consistency)

The BEST is at the Ft Wright Family resturaunt.

That is so nice of you to bring a touch of home to your family away from home! We used to ask for Husman potato chips and Frisch's tartar sauce. We thought we were in heaven when we found White Castle's in the freezer section. You really can't find Goetta or white bratt's outside of the greater Cincy area.

Had a nice slab of goetta today at Colonial Cottage, and it was very good. I just don't see how anyone wouldn't like goetta.

Funny you mention Husmans, the other things I have to take south are Grippo's chips (plain and BBQ) and Ale81 and cans of Skyline chili.

I had a Goetta sandwich for breakfast this morning . MMM MMM good !!

That's true:thumb:
