December 23, 200817 yr Matt Ryan had done so much for that city. He deserves that award and also deserves to be going to the probowl. I really like the way he plays.

But without Matt Forte, where would the bears be this year??? all 3 running backs rushing stats are VERY comparable. Johnson has 1228 yds, Slaton with 1190, and Forte with 1188. Slaton has 8 tds, along with Forte, while Johnson has 9. But the thing that I believe seperates Forte from the other 2 is his receiving ability. He has been arguably the best receiving running back in the league this year.

I agree that Forte has a little better receiving numbers (Johnson - 43/260/1; Slaton -45/341/1; Forte - 60/452/4), but is also averaging a full yard less per carry than the other two. But I do agree that he or Johnson have the numbers to win it - and just might.
December 23, 200817 yr A TON of great rookies this season who have had significant impacts. IMHO, it is Matt Ryan, especially given what happened before he got there and how he has stepped as a player and a leader.
December 23, 200817 yr There were alot of good rookies this year. I think it could go to Forte, Ryan, Johnson and even Flacco. They were all great for their teams this year. I think it will end up going to Ryan though.
December 24, 200817 yr 1. Matt Ryan 2. Chris Johnson 3. Joe Flacco 4. Matt Forte 5. Steve Slaton The other 4 are FANTASTIC, but they have not had the season Matt Ryan has, both on the field, and what he has done for that franchise after the Michael Vick fiasco.

December 24, 200817 yr Def would have to go with ryan followed directly by chris johnson and forte. How many times have we seen a college qb step right in from day 1 in the pros and have such a good year along with improving his team to a playoff caliber one at the same time
