December 21, 200817 yr I dont know how reliable that machine is but it had me at 131/80. I read the chart and it says I am in pre-hypertension area which is 130 to 150. Any nurses/Docs on here who can tell me how legit those readings are and if that is considered high. I would also like to hear what some of you BGPers have had read the last time you went to the Doc or hit up a Kroger.

My wife is a nurse and has her BP cuff calibrated weekly. Your reading is slightly high. However, BP will rise and fall depending on activity, which is not a bad thing. Good Luck!
December 21, 200817 yr Yea really depends on what kind of activities you were involved in lately. Also if you've been at all stressing over the holidays. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
December 21, 200817 yr Author I definitely have some reason for stress but actually dont feel it. My son had a game this afternoon and I can get kind of worked up and my diet today was horrendous.
December 21, 200817 yr We have a similar BP machine at my work, and I've had the pre hypertension scores, then a minute later I'll take a few deep breaths and have an excellent score. I really don't know how accurate they are, but they can scare you a bit. Did you eat or have any caffeine prior to the test.

I am not that worried about it as of right now.
December 21, 200817 yr Your B.P. might have been so high once you focused on how over priced Kroger is.
December 21, 200817 yr Author Your B.P. might have been so high once you focused on how over priced Kroger is. Hey now, I use my handy dandy Kroger card and buy mostly kroger products. I did get a little hot when my wife threw the box of Glad $5 garbage bags. I didnt argue as she does most of the cleaning.

That number (131) is only slightly high. It depends on your age. The lower number (80) is okay. Jeez, I'm playing BGP doctor tonight. Okay, sorry--I have to go check in on my other patient now.

I only go to Krogers to take advantage of the 10 for 10 but If I word it the right way Walmart will match those prices so I am usually there. For food items.

I'm not sure if its still there or not but I used to love playing with that machine when I was a little guy.
December 21, 200817 yr Those machines are only meant to be a screening tool. You should have your bp checked manually at your doctor's office. Still, the bottom number is the most important of the two, and at 80, you are ok.

We got a bad batch of bags and complained to the company and they sent us a coupon for a the biggest box they have for free. Well we just finished that box and now we had to go get more bags, they are expensive. He was like maybe you should complain again and get another coupon lol. As for you BP I would watch it and if you feel it gets higher than talk to your Dr.
