Week 2: NKY Rankings

Featured Replies

The Enquirer doesn't usually use teams outside of Boone, Kenton, and Campbell. I'm actually a little surprised Gallatin is even ranked with them.

They generally only use the "old" 9th region teams:

Holmes, Covcath, Holy Cross, Ludlow, Boone, Conner, St. Henry, SK, Ryle, Dixie, Ludlow, Scott, Lloyd, Villa, Dayton, Bellevue, Newport, Highlands, Newcath, Heritage, Beechwood, and Calvary Christian and Campbell Co..

You know, I didn't even notice the link. Thanks for clarifying...I also get a little confused by what some consider "Northern KY". If it were me, I would only look at Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Counties...I got confused when I saw Gallatin. I would generally include Grant County, if you are including Gallatin County. That would also bring Williamstown into the equation...

Thanks for the clarification.

Beechwood in the top 10 is a joke. Who have they beaten?

Beechwood is a top 10 team...trust me. They have a very good team and IMO will beat some of the bigger schools. It wouldn't surprise me to see them beat Holy Cross, Covcath, Newcath, or St Henry. They are ranked right where they should be at #9. They gave Holmes a better game than any of the teams I just mentioned will.

Who has Campbell beaten? (Asking, really don't know).

You seem to be implying that Boone, Highlands, and CC are all pretty much interchangeable at the #2 spot? Boone and Highlands would appear to be pretty obvious and clearcut choices for #2 and #3.

Pendleton Co by 22, Dixie by 11, and Brossart by 28.

I agree Boone and Highlands are pretty clearcut #2 and #3 selections.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, Holmes did win by 18 though so it couldn't have been to good of a game.

Holmes is going to beat A LOT of teams by 18 . . . and a whole lot more.

If Holmes plays like they did Sunday 18 will be the closest game they have.

Pendleton Co by 22, Dixie by 11, and Brossart by 28.

Whoa whoa whoa, they beat Brossart by 18. Can't let the Stangs look that bad.

CCHS is a very talented team, and with Scott Code at the helm, they have started to become a hard nosed team. I think they're top 5 in NKY right now...

Grant Co isn't NKY....It's Boone, Kenton, and Campbell Co teams only.

Then why is Gallatin on there Eta.....

You're right...they beat BB by 18. Not sure where I came up with 28. Guess I looked at the score too quick and typed too fast. :creepy:

Your guess is as good as mine.

St. Henry is struggling early I'd put them behind Beechwood and Holy Cross at this point in the season and maybe NCC.

Yes I am, Campbell is just as good as those teams IMO. Sorta like two years ago everyone seemed to forget about Bishop Brossart early on and they ended up being ranked the #1 team in NKY by the end of the year going into tourney play. Campbell reminds me a lot of that team.

Might remind you of them, but no way is CC good as Brossart was that year.
