Could be right, could be wrong. Riley's downfall is he's only around 6', 6'1. He no doubt has the talent and athleticism though. The kid has a 40 inch vertical and can flat out shoot the rock.

 

He reminds me of Preston Knowles. I think with his atleticism and ability to shoot, he is a prospect.

Riley is a fine player and I think the Scott Co game proved that he can flat fill it up but no way he has a 40 inch vertical. Thats an off the chart type of number achieved by very few athletes across the country. Not a single athlete at any position at the 2008 NFL Combine had a 40 inch vertical and these are some of the most explosive athletes in the world.

 

I think Riley is the most underrated player on the team and hopefully his performances will start getting some attention from the college coaches but lets not confuse facts.

Actually I said I didn't understand how nky could have them at #3 when the state recognizes them as the 13th best team in the state and Boone is no where to be found. Honestly I'd have Highlands at #2 and Boone #3 right now, simply because Highlands is a) undefeated (as Boone is) and b) they have a win over a top 20 team. Boone hasn't played anyone YET. Who is the better team? It's debatable but right now Highlands has the signature win that Boone doesn't which would put them in the #2 spot.

 

Boone and Holmes are obviously the two most talented teams in nky this year, but I think Boone will lose to another NKY team outside of Holmes...

 

I agree with your reasoning, although outside Mason (by 2 in OT), Highlands hasn't beaten anyone yet. Last year, Boone defeated ranked Adair and Corbin teams early and had a very good early mid-season record and didn't crack the top 20.

 

I still maintain that the Holmes, Highlands, Boone, and Ryle areas have always had the strongest 2010 players in NKY. All the way back to middle school, the 2010 players from these areas have outperformed their NKY peers, and I disagree with people who don't think there can be a correlation. Highlands, Boone, and Ryle are all good teams and still close, just as they have always been going back to middle school, and will continue to be over the next two seasons, largely due to the talented 2010 classes which form the core of their teams.

I agree as well that Highlands hasn't played anyone overly impressive, but the point is, they have the signature win over a top 20 team that no other team in the 9th has outside of Holmes.

I wouldn't necessarily say Highlands is one of the most talented junior classes...they just have a lot of depth and have the star in Kowolonek and a very nice supporting cast of above average players.
