The Heisman is for the best player in college football and obviously the best player in college football is Tim Tebow. However, to win the Heisman usually takes being the best player on one of the best teams, so in this case Tebow has double the case to win and double the case to feel shafted if he does not win. Furthermore, based on Urban Meyers system, and Tebow's style of play, he may also ironically end up on the list of Heisman winners who did not pan out in the NFL. I hope not because Tim is such a great football player, but if he were to make an impact at the next level I would have to think it would be at a position other than QB.

Bradford led on of the best offenses EVER. He should win, but it will likely go to Tebow. Both are deserving...

 

All 3 are deserving. It's been a good year for the top 5 when you include Harrell and Crabtree. Great year actually.

I think Tebow is the best college football player in the land, but Bradford is also very deserving. Its a question of taking the better numbers or the better player. I would vote for Tebow if I had a ballot, but you can't go wrong with Bradford either.

Tebow is a great college player, but he does NOT deserve the Heisman this year. Colt McCoy was the most outstanding College Football player this season.

They should have invited Harrell. I guess they can only invite 3 though.

They can invite more, but it has to do with the amount of votes received. Obviously, Harrell did not receive enough votes.

A TTech QB would probably have to throw for 10,000 yards in a season to get a heisman invite.

Tell me why?? Tebow, for example, had a lower completion % (66% to McCoys 77%) had less passing yards, less passing TD's, and yes, less RUSHING yards then Colt McCoy. Tebow, in my book, is #3 this year, behind McCoy and Bradford.

I mean, I don't know but here are Tebow's numbers:

 

174/268 2,515 Yards, 28 TD's, 2 INT's, 176.7 Rating

 

154 Carries, 564 Yards, 12 TD's

 

That is 3,079 Yards and 40 TD's in 13 games

 

McCoy had similar stats to Tebow and Bradford had betters numbers than both. The argument also comes in that Tebow faced high profile defenses all season. Its an interesting argument. Look at the numbers alone, I would say Bradford wins. I personally would still vote for Tebow.

Mccoy had to do more with less.

128 carries 576 yds 10 td's

 

That is 4,021 yds and 42 td's in 12 games.

The numbers weren't that comparable....McCoy did more with less against MUCH worse defenses. But Florida didn't face the SEC all year....just most of it!

For those of you picking Bradford over Mccoy, let me point a few things out:

 

1. Mccoy won the head-to-head matchup against Bradford. Texas scored 45 points in the win, the most that any team has scored against Oklahoma this season, while scoring a season low 35 points. McCoy was mistake-free, going 28/35 for 277 yards (adding 31 yards on the ground) while Bradford threw two interceptions.

 

2. Mccoy is the MVP of his team...Bradford isn't. Mccoy completed 78 % (77.6) of his passes while also rushing for 576 yards at 4.5 ypc, which is a good stat line for a back up RB. Mccoy has a much more athleticism and is a more complete player.

 

3. Mccoy never lost a game. I know what some of you are thinking..Texas Tech. You have to realize though Mccoy came off the field for the last time EVERY game with a lead. All he did in the TT game was drive 80 yards to put his team up and in a position to remain undefeated. He didn't drop the gift wrapped interception throw thrown by Graham, he didn't defend Crabtree and miss two tackles from 6 yards out, and he wasn't on the defense that allowed TT to drive down the field.

 

I think A LOT of you are not giving him enough credit. The kid is the real deal.

2. Mccoy is the MVP of his team...Bradford isn't.

Bradford has 5 hogs protecting him every game that will all be playing on Sunday. Do you honestly think a decent qb wouldn't have success with that line in front of him? Let's not forget the weapons around him like Iglesias and TWO 1,000 yard rushers in Murray and Brown.

It's not just about numbers. The Heisman is supposed to be given to the best player in the country. That is 100% without a shadow of a doubt Tim Tebow. Dolamite pretty much already explained why Tebow should win it.
