Bradford has 5 hogs protecting him every game that will all be playing on Sunday. Do you honestly think a decent qb wouldn't have success with that line in front of him? Let's not forget the weapons around him like Iglesias and TWO 1,000 yard rushers in Murray and Brown.

 

To say he isn't the MVP of is team his complete nonsense...

For those of you picking Bradford over Mccoy, let me point a few things out:

 

1. Mccoy won the head-to-head matchup against Bradford. Texas scored 45 points in the win, the most that any team has scored against Oklahoma this season, while scoring a season low 35 points. McCoy was mistake-free, going 28/35 for 277 yards (adding 31 yards on the ground) while Bradford threw two interceptions.

 

2. Mccoy is the MVP of his team...Bradford isn't. Mccoy completed 78 % (77.6) of his passes while also rushing for 576 yards at 4.5 ypc, which is a good stat line for a back up RB. Mccoy has a much more athleticism and is a more complete player.

 

3. Mccoy never lost a game. I know what some of you are thinking..Texas Tech. You have to realize though Mccoy came off the field for the last time EVERY game with a lead. All he did in the TT game was drive 80 yards to put his team up and in a position to remain undefeated. He didn't drop the gift wrapped interception throw thrown by Graham, he didn't defend Crabtree and miss two tackles from 6 yards out, and he wasn't on the defense that allowed TT to drive down the field.

 

I think A LOT of you are not giving him enough credit. The kid is the real deal.

 

1. By that reasoning, then Harrell should win it since he won the head-to-head against McCoy. Also, Bradford did his part, but he wasn't playing on the defense, so its hard to blame him for the 45 points.

3. This is using the same reasoning you used in #1 - you're actually going against your own argument. If Bradford is responsible for the 45 points Oklahoma game up then McCoy is responsible for the last second TD that Tech scored (maybe if McCoy was the real deal he would've melted the clock :lol:)

 

All that being said, I still think Tebow is the best college football player in the land.

It's not just about numbers. The Heisman is supposed to be given to the best player in the country. That is 100% without a shadow of a doubt Tim Tebow. Dolamite pretty much already explained why Tebow should win it.

 

Numbers aren't everything but Tebow is statictically the worse of all 4 Qb's so why should he get it? Let's not forget Tebow started out the season rough as well the first few games. Bradford and Mccoy have kept their excellence up ALL SEASON. Tim Tebow is a great player but the majority of the reason he's even in the race is because the East coast media talks him up so much.

"Sam Bradford throws to receivers who make plays with their feet and score touchdowns. Colt Mccoy makes plays with his feet and throws for touchdowns."

 

Mccoy is the most deserving of the trio, like it or not.

IMO the mvp of that team is the whole offensive line. Not only did they protect Bradford for him to pass for the numbers he did, but they also blocked well enough to produce TWO 1,000 yard rushers. You can't tell me having that offensive line isn't a huge reason for Bradford's success GT.

The one question voters MIGHT have in regards to McCoy and Bradford is the quality of defenses they faced in the Big 12.

(started season ranked I believe #10) Florida was a top 5 team and Oklahoma was pre season #2 or 3 I believe. Mccoy took his team to a whole nother level.

What he did was impressive and you have to have the vision and accuracy to pass for that many yards, but I'm just pointing out that having an offensive line that kept him clean every game helped out. He didn't have to worry about rolling out of the pocket or running for his life. He could sit back and pick the defense apart.

McCoy threw for 32 TD's and 16 of those came against FAU, Rice, UTEP, and Baylor. Ouch.
