I'm like some others on here. While I want to think that Bell County would win somewhat handily, something tells me that this Bullitt East team has enough about them to maybe pull off the upset or at the least, keep the game interesting.

 

Looking at Bell's schedule and who they have played, I think that Bullitt East would most likely compare to Rockcastle County and possibly a little bit better offensively?

 

In a game like this with two run heavy type offenses and the clock running, all it takes is a couple defensive stands and a turnover or two for the game to take a swing in the other direction . If Bullitt East can do that, then who knows?

Prayers out to the Bell County community. I just read about the tragic automobile accident that took the lives of four young people from the Pineville area. How very sad it is to lose our young people. I am sure the BGPers here will all keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I agree in the last few years maybe as many as the top 5 or 6 were in the east. But some of those teams are a little down.

Bell will do to Bullitt East what LexCath did to Lone Oak. Especially if this Bullitt East team isn't as good as the Bullitt East team that got demolished by Bowling Green a couple of years ago in the state semis at Bowling Green. Bowling Green then preceded to get demolished by LexCath. If this year's version of Bullitt East isn't better than that one, then this year's Bullitt East will get demolished. Quite honestly, we did a better job of controlling Bell County running the ball and we had a top ten defense at Boyle County. I haven't seen anyone mention anything about Bullitt East's defense and I also don't think Bullitt East has seen the type of running back(s) that they will face on Saturday and Bell County has at least 3 that are going to plow into and over you. I just don't see a close game at all. Bell has too many ways to beat you. They have the best qb we faced all year and he can beat you with his arms, legs, and his head. This Bell County team is on a mission and if Boyle County couldn't stop them, then I have a hard time believing Bullitt East will stop them. Especially after giving up 49 points last week.

I have not seen B E play this year so I have a question' date=' how mobile is their qb? [b']If Boyle has Knox's qb then Boyle wins big last Friday, he was just way too slow footed.[/b] If I am B E I practice the spread all week. This is Bell's only weakness that I can see. With all due respect to Bell County and the Knox County qb, if we don't have 6 turnovers, then this could very well be a Boyle-Bullitt thread not a Bell-Bullitt thread. His slow footed-ness, or lack thereof didn't hurt us at all. If his slow footed-ness is in reference to the failed 2 pt. conversion, then all I can say is that the Bell County defense made the play of the night by closing in on Phillip as he approached the goal line. Every one of us Boyle County fans watching the game thought he could walk into the end zone but the Bell County defense did a spectacular job of not allowing that to happen. You have to take into account the team running the spread because I think if you look at defensive stats for the year you will find that not many teams, if any, outgained Bell County in yardage for the game like Boyle County did. Iwouldn't just assume that Bullitt East can go to a spread offense and be successful just because Boyle was somewhat successful at it against Bell County.

Boyle's QB was as good as Knox's with his feet. Bell knew that going in that Mason would and could run so they gameplaned for it. Knox had not ran their QB any during the season and waited until the Regional finals to do so. A great move by KC's coaching staff. Bell adjusted in the 2nd half and held him in check compared to the 1st half.

 

Mason was a running and passing threat, a very good HS QB. The interceptions were not necessarily forced throws or bad throws just a good job of the Bell defenders reading and breaking on the ball. Their speed and some of the coverage's suprised Boyle and the QB IMO. The 4th INT was the last play of the game and almost a hail mary play.

:thumb: EAST will find out how big and strong the Bell 0-LINE is just like Boyle Co. I have said this all year I think Bell Co. has maybe the best O-line in the state.

I said this before the O-line was strong and massive didnt think a few where listening. I agree they are very good and played a very good team in Boyle. These guys have been waiting for this moment to long and this team is the one Bell has been waiting to get to STATE. We have watched them win all there lifes in grade school with the same drive they showed friday night. Everyone on this team wanted this and new they would give all they had to get there. Its has taken all of them not just the seniors to get here,all of them. They have always showed all of Bell County they play as one. They are true fighters, guys finish what you started. Bring it home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
