So, if we strictly went with the "toughest mascot"...

I've been to the horse track and the dog track, and I'd take the dogs. Corbin over NCC.

I would hope a bulldog wouldn't nip a Pioneer, I think Simon Kenton would say, "Bulldog tastes a bit like chicken."

mcpapa you have too much time on your hands.

I am having a hard time seeing a tiger beating a rocket. Maybe its a bottle rocket?

I am with you, Watusi. I am taking a Rocket over any creature or person. If you survive the initial impact, you are fine since there is nothing left. But I would not like my chances.

If you want to see some classic high school mascots check out this site:

http://www.tekonsha.k12.mi.us/scaa/teamnames.htm

Scroll down, they have some of the best from each state.

I am partial to the

Holbrook Arizona - Roadrunners

There is also:

Laurel Hill Florida - Hoboes

Cairo Georgia - Syrupmakers

Clark Fork Idaho - Wampus Cats

Centralia Illinois - Orphans / Orphan Annies

Freeburg Illinois - Midgets

And if a Bluebird isn't tough, then how about the:

Fisher Illinois - Bunnies

Heck, the Bluebirds don't even make the list for KY but the Big Trains and Briar Jumpers do.

Silver Grove - Big Trains

Somerset - Briar Jumpers

How about these

Polka, West Virginia - Dots

South Webster, Ohio - Jeeps (not the vehicle the Popeye sidekick)

But the Rocket would disintegrate upon impact, wouldn't that lead to a draw since neither would be able to advance?

Maybe that is the clincher. Rockets get one shot, but cats have 9 lives.

I still like the team in West Virginia the best. The person who is responsible for this is wrong:

Poka - Dots.

It is spelled Poca Dots.

I lived very close to Poca for 5 years. At first I didn't like it, but after a while it grows on you.
