Corbin is a nice team, but I don't see them staying with the Breds in the second half

We have the AP Polls in NKY too. If someone is talking about the AP Poll that is fine but you need to tell everyone you are in fact talking about the AP Poll because the understood Poll on BGP is of course the BGP Poll.

 

Back to sports, this should be a great game. I think NCC is about the same as last year. How about Corbin?

 

I think that this is a completely different team than last year. Last year's team was fast pretty much everywhere. The offense relied heavily on the pass and the defense was better at LB. However, last year's team shot themselves in the foot over and over again w/ unforced errors. This year's team is much more physcial. They passed the ball may twice last night and have relied heavily on the run. They are playing Chris Kelly as a wing back/slot receiver and Ferrara is seeing more time, so that gives them 4 very fast backs who can get the ball from different angles. The defense isn't as good as last year, but they are very opportunistic. The biggest improvement b/n the teams is on special teams. Last night NewCath had great field position due to their kickoff returns and took another punt back to the house. They also blocked 2 extra points.

 

As far as next week, if Corbin can pass the ball than this will be interesting. We all know how well they'll run the ball. I'm confident that NewCath will be able to make enough stops to force. However, if Corbin can connect on a few passes like De Sales did last night to open the game it could really create huge problems.

I saw a solid Corbin team last night. They will be hard to deal with at Campbell Field, and there should be a huge crowd there. I was disappointed with the crowd last night though. I think Corbin is playing better TEAM football than last season. It seemed last year that it was about certain groups or certain individuals...i.e. the linebackers or the receivers etc. Even though those spots may have been strengths the individual units seemed to grow bigger than the team for some players. This groups seems to have a singleness of purpose, and that is to win. They do whatever it takes as a team to win. Personal glory doesn't seem to matter to these young men, and that is what it takes to become a champion. At home I like Corbin in a thriller.

If you think that NCC is about the same as last year......that bodes well for me and fellow FC Falcons fans if the Falcons and the 'Breds really are on a "collision course" as BredMan put it earlier.

 

Back to the matter at hand. I think that Corbin will take this one based on home field advantage alone.

mex, I realize the teams are different, what I was trying to get across was that 2007 NCC and 2008 NCC are about the same "power rating" for lack of a better term. I may give 2007 a slight edge but I really like the way NCC is physical up front this year.
