The games before this one they had players to foul out but for some reason that did'nt go for this game. The big kid that dunked on stenzil had five fouls and the scores table personnal said that players are not fouling out of this game. So go figure!:confused:

 

Actually the two coaches decided to not count fouls. They said, if they had any players just hacking away they would take them out.

 

Knipp didn't get what would have been his 5th foul until about 2 minutes left.

If the defensive player was in the air, then it should've been And 1.

 

 

Just because a defensive player is in the air, doesn't mean its a foul. If he has position, he owns from the floor straight up to the ceiling. Defensive guys can jump. Totally legal.

 

That being said, I thought it was a good no call.

I watched all the games at Russell last night and I think Elliott was by far the best team there. I also do not think any of the teams there can improve enough to play with them this season. They are after every board, pass, dribble, lose ball, they just don't quit. There D is real good. The only way they will get beat this year is to have an off shooting night. Mason looked good and will get better with time. The Cards will improve the most, with a chance to get to the state . Russell looks to be better than last year and will probably be in the middle of the region rather than the bottom as some have said.

I did'nt realize that. Thanks for the info.I agree with alot of the posters on here that Elliot is a very good team. To me what stands out the most is their dicipline. They just don't make mistakes and that's why they are winners. Great shooting team with even better attitudes.:thumb:

I was there and everyone got off the bench which I think is great. Cudos to coach Humpfrey. Daniels played ok just seemed a little out of control at times. Rogers did real well. He battled the refs more than anything else. He could'nt breathe on anyone without the refs calling him on it. Williams was just very rusty. He had alot of turnovers which can be expected with only a few days of practice. Still quicker than lighting. Zollo did well I just don't think they got him the ball enough down low as well as not getting the ball to Rogers enough down low. Zollo had a great dunk off of a Brewer still for the breakaway dunk. Brewer did well. He was the only one to pick the pocket of Evan Faulkner at the point for a layup. He hit a few jump shoots with very limited play. Over all the team looked unprepared. A little out of synch but not using that as an excuse. Just looked that way. They came to within 5 points in the 2nd half but got no closer. It want be long before these guys will be a very well oiled machine. To talented not to be.

 

I am almost certain the game did not get within 15 points the second half and am 100 percent sure the game was not with 10 in the second half.

Here's a question for the EC faithful: WHo do they have to go to if one of their starting 5 gets in foul trouble? I'd think if teams were smart they'd try to drive a little more against them and get in the lane to force fouls since they have virtually no depth.

Agree with you Tom Tom; Stenzil took his arm off on the dunk!! Lots of body contact too.

I agree with you. They deserve respect. But then why did you try and discount Manual's romp over Lexington Catholic last weekend with "its a scrimmage" and "that what I thought" comments? Preseason games like these are played with intensity. I say this solidifies EC's spot in the top 10.

Folks, EC is good but let's not get ahead of ourselves over one SCRIMMAGE. There is a lot of games to played and there are atleast 5 other teams out there that's once full strength, EC would really struggle against.

 

They'll have plenty of time to prove themselves during the REGULAR SEASON. Let's wait til then before we start crowning them state champs because of one scrimmage game where GRC didn't even have all of their players.
