This Elliott team reminds me a whole lot of the Breckinridge team that won the title in 1995 (I think). They don't appear particularly athletic and most would take a look at thme and write them off. Then, they come out and play the game the way it should be played and the next you know, they're cutting the nets down. They piece they've lacked the last 2 years was depth off the bench and a stong post player. With the physical development of Knipp, this team is much more complete.

 

Yes they won it all. That is one of my all time favorite teams. I was just telling my son this morning that Elliott Co reminds me of them.

 

My son compares them more to the 1996 Paintsville team...they won it all. Little repect from across the state but had more stand out talent than the Breckenridge team.

I did not get to go sick. Glad they won and won big. See you Saturday , I hope.

What were the statistics for Hatton and Stenzel? total points,turnovers,assists,rebounds,and shooting percentages.

I was there and everyone got off the bench which I think is great. Cudos to coach Humpfrey. Daniels played ok just seemed a little out of control at times. Rogers did real well. He battled the refs more than anything else. He could'nt breathe on anyone without the refs calling him on it. Williams was just very rusty. He had alot of turnovers which can be expected with only a few days of practice. Still quicker than lighting. Zollo did well I just don't think they got him the ball enough down low as well as not getting the ball to Rogers enough down low. Zollo had a great dunk off of a Brewer still for the breakaway dunk. Brewer did well. He was the only one to pick the pocket of Evan Faulkner at the point for a layup. He hit a few jump shoots with very limited play. Over all the team looked unprepared. A little out of synch but not using that as an excuse. Just looked that way. They came to within 5 points in the 2nd half but got no closer. It want be long before these guys will be a very well oiled machine. To talented not to be.

He did'nt dunk on Vinny. He dunked on Stenzil. It should have been a charging call but I guess the ref did'nt want to mess up a good thing right!

I believe someone said earlier he dunked on Stenzel...not Zollo. HE head faked and drove past Zollo for the dunk.

Here's a question for the EC faithful: WHo do they have to go to if one of their starting 5 gets in foul trouble? I'd think if teams were smart they'd try to drive a little more against them and get in the lane to force fouls since they have virtually no depth.

They have 3 pretty strong players off the bench. They have enough depth this season to be where they need to be.

Seemed like they were in foul trouble all year last year and were fine.

The games before this one they had players to foul out but for some reason that did'nt go for this game. The big kid that dunked on stenzil had five fouls and the scores table personnal said that players are not fouling out of this game. So go figure!:confused:

The Lions have thre on the bench that can play very Well and have seen min. in the last 2 years. I am sure that some of the others will come along as the season passes. Goooo Lions.
