President-elect Barack Obama is committed to creating special rights for homosexuals and trampling on traditional marriage. He laid out his agenda on his Web site:

 

Expand hate-crimes legislation (which would create a new category of crime for actions said to be motivated by bias toward a person’s actual or perceived “sexual orientation” and “gender identity." Sexual-orientation hate-crimes laws have been used to prosecute speech in the U.S. and abroad).

Support the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (which would create special rights based on an employee’s actual or perceived sexual orientation and could force Christian employers to hire against their religious beliefs).

Oppose a federal marriage-protection amendment.

Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (which would open the door to forcing all 50 states to recognize same-sex "marriage").

Expand gay adoption (which would leave vulnerable children without either a mom or a dad).

Repeal the so-called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy (which would jeopardize military readiness by allowing open homosexuality in the armed forces).

Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, said: "We need to support our men and women in the military and not expect them to carry the heavy burdens of social engineering."

 

She said no one has a "right" to serve in the military, as Obama seems to suggest.

 

"To say that the armed forces should accept any and all people is a little absurd," she told Family News in Focus. "Should we throw out all distinctions?"

This may be off subject but there are some fine bumperstickers and teeshirts for sale on ebay under "anti obama". As for his stance on social issues, some of those items on ebay describe what those with traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs face quite well.

In what way does gay adoption leave children vunerable, and vulnerable to what?

In what way does repeal of don't ask don't tell jeopardize military readiness? Keep in mind that the same argument against social engineering was used to oppose integration of the military in the late 40s.

 

Saying that the military should accept openly gay people does not say that the military should accept "any and all". It would seem to me that the only criteria that should be used to determine acceptance for military duty is fitness for military duty.

May God have pity on our nation and it's apostasy.

i see nothing that is creating special rights. Only recognizing where equal rights have been denied and squashing that denial.

 

I say my God loves everyone and this is more of a recognition of how accepting God is and how accepting he expects us to be. I say amen brother.

Ace, try reading Leviticus 18:22-30. Lying with mankind as with womankind is an abomination. That pretty much says the Lord HATES this sin . . . as he does ALL sin. He would not have given His Only Son to be the propitiation for us if sin was something the Lord did not abhor. Our nation will be judged just as Sodom and Gomorrah were judged if we condone this practice.

We must kill our kids for talking back to us. When we vanquish a foe in battle we must kill all of their women and children. We must bash the heads of children against the rocks, if they are heathen.

 

If we continue with the cultural trapping of the old and some of the new testament, then slavery is acceptable, and we can even sell our daughters into slavery.

I did not see any special rights listed, only those that are guaranteed to other loving partners who want a recognized union.

I really don't understand the whole gay marriage deal. The majority of Americans do not want it and in our country people should make decisions like that. I believe the case should be closed.
