November 19, 200817 yr Will someone please tell him to transfer down Broadway to Transy! Coach Lane might be able to find a spot for him.
November 19, 200817 yr He seems like a good kid and one we all root for, but he simply is not cut out to play at a major university. I guess they brought him in thinking he was a good shooter, although he is not even that. What makes him look even worse is the fact the other PGs are not ready to play so he is forced in to more minutes. His role is best served coming off the bench 10 minutes a game at the off guard position making a few hustle plays and burning some fouls.

Couldn't agree more....coming in for either the PG or SG for a couple minutes at a time would be a ideal. He seemed to fit that role behind Ramel last year at times. I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was going against one of the top PG's in the nation last night, but he still looked awful.

Thing is, I did not even think Lawson and company were going at him all that hard. Once he got near a Tar Heel defender he would start peeing in his pants and pick up his dribble or throw the ball to the bench.
November 19, 200817 yr He is a Billy G type player. Every G team has had this type of kid on his team. to say he was "peeing in his pants" is a little extreme , I didn't see a single player on the UK roster that was able to do much against the UNC D. Patterson looked awesome, but only because he made some All-American plays.

My point is he just got nervous when any type of pressure was applied because he does not have a lot of confidence his ballhandling skills... and rightfully so.
November 19, 200817 yr I am not a UK fan whatsoever... but this kid doesn't deserve a uniform for your typical UK squad. He should only see a few minutes off the bench a game (like said earlier in the thread).
November 19, 200817 yr He did look a lot better when he was guarding Frazor last night .He was more his speed, but quick guards will eat his lunch all day.

But other teams looking at this game and saying "we will get after him".
November 19, 200817 yr He will be on the bench midway in the season. Liggins or Miller will be starting.

I agree, and in the first half the entire roster, with the exception of Patterson looked completely disorganized. The gaunlet that UNC put on last night was amazing. To know that UK was on the verge of getting the game to within 10 points on several instances in teh 2nd half I thought was a telltale sign that given time, this team will compete. But then UNC would knock down a couple of easy ones....
November 19, 200817 yr He is an 8 or 9 guy on the roster, but because of lack of available guard play he is starting. Baptism by fire is not the way to go for freshman so I understand what Coach G is doing. We as Cat fans just have to be prepared to take our lumps early on this year.
