Blackberry Storm

Featured Replies

I haven't tried it didn't even know it was available. I'm gonna have to look into it!

Edit: it requires you to have a jailbroken phone I'm a little scared to jailbreak mine.

Yeah, that's my one drawback for the Iphone.

You were talking about orb live, right ?

I'm basically purchasing one of these phones so I can have live television wherever I go (I don't want any of the television entertainment packages that the carriers offer because they look like complete crap). Unfortunately, you have to jailbreak the Iphone to do anything substantial with it. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that to be honest. I think I can use the above mentioned program with out much alteration with some of the other smart phones Cingular offers. I'd really like to have the Iphone though.

Using slingbox would be another way to go about getting live television. That's a little pricey though, not sure if it's worth it.

My computer came with a program called "viao life entertainment". The computer has a cable hook up in the back and allows you to watch, schedule and record shows. So if I can figure out a way to access my desktop from a phone (remote access software ?), that would be the most realistic way to go about it.

Since I already have the iPod touch, the blackberry storm would be a perfect fit for me. It has a better camera, video recording capabilities, and I'm assuming picture messaging as well. Anyone have any ideas on what the rate plans will be?

If you buy an unlocked Storm and use it with another carrier besides Verizon would you even be able to get the BB email and web package? Because if not, you just have a cool looking phone that does nothing more than a freebie phone. So, IMO a big waste of money.

You know I never thought about that. That's an excellent point. I wonder if all blackberry plans are the same and you could just get one for say the curve. I know my plan is 89.99 and it includes 450 daytime mins a month, unlmtd AT&T calling to other AT&T customers, unlmtd text, email, and Internet. And free nights and weekends. I saw a commercial for the storm and it said unlimited everything plan 99.99 mins email text and net! That was fir verizon though.

I'll be sticking with Cingular. You can always find unlocked phones online. I don't mind to spend money on something I'm going to own for 2-3 years. If I check out the storm and like it, I'll find an unlocked one.

Whats the best site to get unlocked phones at?

Ebay.

The prices are outrageous but if you like a certain phone enough, it's worth it I suppose.

I can't type on an iPhone and the storm apparently has some revolutionary new type of touch keyboard, I can't wait to see it, but I will most likely keep my Curve until I get a Bold.

What are the differneces in a storm and bold?

I can't wait to see it. All of my friends have iPhones, and I have a Samsung Instinct which already is up there with the iPhone IMO. So with Samsung making a nice follow up, I cannot wait to see Blackberry with its first touch screen.

The storm is touch screen and bold isn't.

Actually it will be....People I know at Cingular has already said that they will be getting the Blackberry storm but the exact date wasn't released at that time.

I will be very surprised if AT&T gets the storm any time soon.

Actually as long as Verizon meets certain sales goals it is a lifetime exclusive contract. :thumb:
