Tubby and Minnesota

Featured Replies

I don't think people from Kentucky ever cared about Minnesota. They never play anyone around here usually and have a totally different recruiting base than our universities. I wish Tubby nothing but the best. I guess some followed them when Clem Haskins was there.

They did have Charles Thomas from Harlan in the '90's when they made a final four appearance.

Whose Tubby???

I love Kentucky as much as the next guy but I am fiercely loyal to Tubby.

With no offense to you, but I doubt you love Kentucky as much as the next guy in that case. Like futurecoach said, he was a big time Tubby advocate.

I am too, after I found out he dipped.

I just need to see it happen once, then i'll get the anger at other UK fans out of my system. Then I can root again for Uk full-time. I don't intend to thread-jack or get this thread closed so I'll leave it at that.

As well as to ol' 13 Loss BCG :D

I am and have been one of the biggest Tubby supporters/defenders on here (Tubby is a great coach and a class person) but I am first and foremost ALWAYS a U.K. fan, no question. I wish Tubby and Minnesota all the best but if it should ever come to a game between U.K. and Minn. then it is U.K. all the way wth me!!

13 loss BCG + major injuries + unforseen obstacles = SEC Coach of the Year :thumb:

As soon as the Tourney Committee can make it happen.

Take that to the bank!!!:thumb:

How long was Eddie Sutton at Oklahoma State? A UK/OSU match-up during that time would have been ten times as compelling as a UK/Minnesota game. Everybody in Kentucky hated Sutton. Most still do. I didn't see the committee letting it happen, much less making it so. Doubt they'll care enough to try now.

Well Sutton forced the program into probation and a loss of scholarships, Tubby just forced the team into mediocrity, its easy to see why Sutton would be hated more. But that also just goes to show that UK fans cannot stand not being able to compete with anyone no matter what the circumstance may be.

Whose Tubby???

Isnt he the guy trhat causes Hartline to not be able to move the offense down the field?

GO TUBBY and GO MINNESOTA.:dancingpa

A couple drinks+a SUV=Eddie Sutton

I know there are a few of us that posted scores for each Minnesota basketball game last year. Tubby seems to always get right around 20 wins each year, so even though I have no clue who they have in terms of talent, you would think they will be right there again.

Whether or not they can contend for the Big 10 title, pull of some upsets here and there, that remains to be seen.

Well here's a little background info on him..

407-159 career record

SEC post season championships(1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004)

6 Sweet 16 appearances, 4 Elite 8 appearances, Final 4

Helped a Minnesota team, who won 9 games the year before he arrived, to win 20 games
