1800 miles is absurd, I feel for the Harlan Co players and supporters.

How does the team get there, by bus or are they dropped off by parents, etc. during these games that take approximately 5 minutes to get to? I've always been curious to know that about inner city schools.
First time I've heard Highlands referred to as an inner city school:lol:

Football players must congregate at their school and have transportation provided for football games. I believe insurance is the reason. This does not always apply to baseball or softball. This does apply to public and private as far as I know.

I noticed that but wasn't going to say anything.

My personal favorite gas saver, Scott County:

TWO AWAY GAMES

@ LexCath 36 miles

@ GRC 64 miles

100 miles round trip!

NewCath

SK @ Newport Stadium 1 mile (if that)

CovCath@ Newport Stadium 1 mile

Ryle @ Newport Stadium 1 mile

@ Bellevue 1 mile

Holy Cross @ Holmes 4 miles

@ Newport 1 mile

@ Conner 21 miles

Lloyd @ Newport 1 mile

@ Campbell Co. 11 miles

NewCath has travelled a whopping 41 miles (82 miles round trip) for 9 games, and they don't have their own field. I feel bad for all of those teams that have to travel.

Once they play Beechwood they'll have travelled 84 miles round trip for the whole season.

418 Total Miles Traveled (round trip)

Bourbon County to Letcher 142 miles, long way to go for a butt kickin:creepy:

How many miles has your team traveled this year, I'd say Harlan County is setting the record.

Away Games:

Letcher County Central - 112 miles

Lynn Camp - 148 miles

Lee County, VA - 50 miles

Fleming County - 372 miles

Powell County - 266 miles

Somerset - 238 miles

Grayson County, VA - 302 miles

Taylor County - 356 miles ***Assuming this is the first round opponent.

1,844 Total Miles (Roundtrip)

That is the cumulitive of driving to Las Vegas, Nevada.:scared:

How many miles has your team logged onto the odometer of the yellow taxi this year? Just use mapquest, it is easy to calculate.

Do they not have a home field?

Grant County was fortunate this year, with 6 home games. However, we traveled 315.25 miles to 4 different schools, 630.50 miles round trip. Now, if we add our playoff game, that is another 274 roundtrip miles. Figures that the gas prices go down after the season is close to being over!!

Yes, they currently play at the old Cawood field. However, due to the new classification they could only get 3 home games. Scheduling teams was a nightmare this year. However, next year all the games are already scheduled to be really close to form some local rivalries. Plus they get a 5-5 series home and away next year.

When I typed that I wanted to know the answer for HHS, but I had always wondered about schools in the Louisville area, I wasn't clear and I meant those schools in Louisville because they don't travel very far and I was also wondering about the privates there as well. Didn't mean to use the Bluebirds as an example of an inner city.

I don't know — I've heard some of the Highlands fans wax poetically about the mean streets of Fort Thomas.
